Something that helped me was doing the motion of exercises with little to no weight on my legs/hips. Going through range of motion in the pool or while laying in bed helped both to find the catch point and seeing if it was an issue with my form or the joint. It can also help to get started...
So not to get to into it but this last month has been particularly rough mentally, physically, and emotionally to the point that it is hard to get the energy to even pretend to function. I am working on things with my therapist but I know I am very bad about if I stop moving it get infinitely...
This one has been working wonders for me lately. I can almost just relax and zone out while matching the pulse after a bit.

It's kind of like pushing against a wall. There's no pain to speak of, I just can't lift anything over about 5lbs to my side. I can do 3lbs but it takes effort.
Lifting in front of me or overhead is no issue. I can do both with normal weights and just have regular levels of strain.
Thank you. I will admit some of it is just how weird it feels to be doing a workout like PPL with 10-15lb weights and going good then hit the lateral raises and struggle with 3lbs. I will keep at it and just plan on keeping two sets nearby by. :ss:

For some reason I have a major drop in strength with them to the point that even 3lb weights are almost to heavy for me to do more than a set or two with.

Honestly when I have those spells I will dust off some old game (video or card game normally) that I haven't touched in ages and play those for a bit. Works best for me if it is a game I can play on muscle memory to start with, and then after a bit the brain remembers the nostalgia/frustration...
