Thank you @Laura Rainbow Dragon , @Anek , @NightTigress and @TopNotch ! The tree ornament is a really nice hive event , I e,joy it each year. I'll leave you all drown under snowballs though, LOL!

Oh, got my carpets all nice and washed and well-preserved (these are older iranian and such untreated wool carpets, so quite delicate, and I can tell you, when wet, they weight like bricks and smell like a barn!) , got them back, and had the insurance's visit. They seem to say my application for reimbursment is complete and I should get the money between Christmas and New Year. If that's true, that'll be a good work done. But I will trust it when I see the money on my account!

Emotionally unstable this atfernoon - partly because of low energy, partly I know why. Now repeat with me "I am not my emotions, my emotions are legitimate but they are not my masters, I will dwell on what I control". Sigh. It'll be better after some rest.

EoD (climbers), 2 mins mobility challenges D18, Fit Christmas D18.

Thank you @Laura Rainbow Dragon , already some better.

Last day of work, my parents arrive for Christmas, and tonight I got my neighbors come for some Christmas cheer and thank them for their help when I was flooded earlier this month. Should be fun!

So long ? So long!!! Now don't worry, this wolf is OK, just been so darned busy preparing Christmas and celebrating it. It was a really special moment :) But I am to the point of brainlessness .
Still managed to continue the EoD / 2 min mobility / Fit Chrismas, down to D25.

Gonna need a few days of true rest. See ya! And again Heppy Solstice , merry Christmas, and merry end of year to everybody.

So, enjoying a lot the speakers my parents + bros treated me with for Christmas, cooking and spending time with my parents, doing punctual reorganisation chores that get forgotten outside of vacations. So busy but nice busy and taking some time to rest too.

Continuing EoD, 2 mins mobility and Fit CHristmas, now to D28 for both.

So, in January I intend to do the Valkyrie ascent program - thanks again Dareteam, and wondering if I should add some abs challenge with that or just some light yoga.

Oh, little annoucment : I think I need to give myself a media / forums /internet deconnection time for some reassessing, as with illness and all it has become maybe something I fall too much back on. So, my dry january will be No forums, No news sites (including facebook and twitter), no phone game, stop Duolinguo. Autorisation to look at the program here (but no forum), and at the chess lessons and playing chess (but No forums there) but that will be all. And Autorisation for a knit pattern download (but again No forum). These exceptions seem to me like they'll help me still do interesting / productive things, which is after all my goal.
I should also devise some rule to not watch the news too much daily on TV, but that's not yet fully decided how. Maybe morning news, evening only one hour of one of the two talk shows I am interested in.

So, in January, know I will be with you in Spirit, but not in word / typing / forum. Think of me that this helps me reorganise.

"Motivation is temporary. Discipline is forever."
No Duolingo? Get ready for some peculiar little icon changes if you keep the app on your phone. Today I got "12 weeks since you left me" and a grey-scale owl!
I heard something interesting a couple of days ago, about people who go on a "detox". If all this internet connection is seen as non-beneficial, and so people turn off for a while, then why do they end up re-introducing it to their system later? After all, if you were detoxing from hard drugs or alcohol, you wouldn't say, "I'll have a month off and then maybe start adding a bit back into my life".
For myself, quitting Duolingo (and losing that 5+year streak) was a hard step to take but once I had taken it, it didn't hurt at all. Same with unstrapping my Garmin from my wrist. I think part of me thought I'd miss all that far more than I actually did.
That said, I don't mean to diminish anything you're about to do, but rather, in this quiet time, urge you really to evaluate what you need (or really want) so that these are the things that you let back into your life. It's not about becoming a luddite, but simply about becoming mindful and not letting your life get sucked away into the aether. I'll miss you, but I can console myself with the fact that you're going to be knitting, and maybe have something to show off when/if you decide to come back to us.

Thank you @wjs . Here in France we have municipal elections coming tthis spring and presidential election in 1 year 1/2 - but it's going to start to heat pretty quick, because of some judgments in waiting, and because of the municipals's impact (and the very unstable position). So information matters, but a step back for real reflexion will matter very much too.

@TopNotch LOL, will look for these weird Duo! You have a very good point on the after-detox and what really want out of it. One of these things is clearly seeing what I need / really look forward to , and what is more compulsive use, and indeed, overall, better mindfulness.

Been doing some real thorough reorganising and order making in my basement space and amongst my bed-linens, and today chose my new glasses, including glasses for computer use.

Continuing EoD, 2 mins mobility and Fit CHristmas, now to D30 for both.

And I did not realise but Badge for the challenge, and special badge for Fit Christmas too ;) Woohoo!
Thank you @graoumia , hugs.

our @Damer 's new video is making me ponder too. Daily short could be ...crunches, or butt ups ? That'd be nice for my abs, pondering which. And the challenge on three months is not clear in my head. Walking again properly ? Going again to swim more regularly (starting to feel all rusty again) ? Hmmm, other things to ponder. I will write on that tomorrow, and then, big plunge!

Thank you @Mamatigerj and @Laura Rainbow Dragon !
Yeah, did my morning exercise - 10 mins yoga, EoD.

1 year and 270 consecutive days of exercise (one year 270 days on 31/12).

And now we go for a bit of quiet and thinking. I will be back - this place is a hugely positive one , so I am sure of that, early February. In the meantime, Valkyrie program, and for the daily exercise our @Damer suggested in his video, 5 butt-ups daily for my little abs (will push to 10 if it feels very easy). Have the very best for 2026 - health, time with your beloved ones, fun exercise, and beauty!

Arhooooo! Your friendly neigborhood pharmacist-wolvie is back!

Too much to read at one, but I will be back following ya'll ;)

So, what happened in January ? Well, sports wise, I did the 10 butts-up a day + Walkyties program, now to day 35.
Non-sports wise, all right. My parents are fine, dad is not even needing stimulants (like EPO and the like) between his chemos, so his oncologue is amazed and happy, and so are we.
I'm fighting, every day, so that Cthulhu gets a good beating ;) Had a few days with nasty secundary effects but this too passed.
Weight wise,
I seem to have stabilised one kilo below what I had reached, so I am fairly happy with that too.

Mademoiselle Luna gave me quite the scare - after a Saturday where I found her, well, not quite right, and she didn't finish her food, I woke up on Sunday morning 7 AM with, how shall we say, lots to clean in my appartment. And she had no appetite. So after rush-cleaning, I caught a cab and we went to the local vet hospital emergency room. In short, poor thing had cholangitis - an infection of the canal deversing bile into her digestive system. She is now under the proper antibiotic, which she takes quite well, and I am of course spoiling her to bits till the check up visit in 2 weeks. But let me tell you, this wolf was very very sad seeing her little devil sick... Sigh.

I moved my main exercise to mid-morning, following some advice, to force myself to have a mid-morning break, so far so good. Also good at going for a walk, even a short one, at noon - at least there is always light at that time. I am also supposed to work on doing a mid-afternoon break, with either writing some or meditation, but I am not good with that one.
Progressing slowly but surely in chess too ; if anyone here is on chess.com, let me know, in case we can do some chess matches!

Well, the internet break / detox was a really good one. I feel like I am gonna be much less on, I lost lots of attraction for many sites - except here, I am glad to be back! So that kinda answers the questions rightly asked by @TopNotch , I am gonna limit myself severely sites wise now. Duolingo is dead and done ; and I almost finished a scarf!

I wacthed a few good movies ; notably "A Prophet", with Niels Arestrup : Wiki page. It is about a young arab in prison in Marseilles, where he gets accepted into the "corsican" gang, and all the power interactions and developments in prison with the main Corsican mafiosi, played wonderfully by Niels Arestrup (an actor I already liked a lot). If you want a good gritty prison-drama + coming-of-age drama, watch it , it's worth! Specially paging cinephile @GentleOx on that one.

Wow, that was quite the info dump. Hugs to all bees, and let's show them all the Hive spirit!

Mademoiselle Luna also sends thanks and purrs, her issue is not yet solved but we'll see to it patiently!
Continuing House of Valkyrie - now D38, and my daily butt-ups.

Congrats to Italia for a lovely opening ceremony for the olympics, BTW!

Thank you @Haleth !

House of Valkyrie now up to D11, and daily butt-ups ; been walking outside well Saturday and Sunday , but not yet yesterday.
I decided I was going to spend some time in Bretagne in April - 2 weeks of vacation, and one week of telecommuting. Mom has to get an infusion for a product against osteoporosis, this should go fone but sometimes people are very tired (flu-like symptoms) for a few days after so if I can be with her and dad at that moment, that could be useful.

Hugs, thank you for your kind remark, @TopNotch . I am still learning the balance between being good to myself / listening to my body and being self-disciplined. You'd think at the ripe age of 51 I'd know, but LOL, not quite yet!

Sunday, Monday and yesterday did walk properly , did butt-ups faily, and House of the Valkyrie now to D48.

Happy year of the horse, happy Mardi-gras (and tomorrow good starf of Lend with Ash Wednesday), and for our muslim bees good preparation for Ramadan!

Daily butt-ups, and now to House of the Valkirie D52. Walked outside yesterday Friday.
Oh, I didn't mention earlier, but @TopNotch inspired me and I got some sagarro barefoot shoes. Oooh the pleasure... The toes spreading, no pressure on that angle below the thumb... The only issue is that afterwards, going inside normal shoes is not so comfortable! I have a feeling mom's gonna be grouchy about the appearance, but heck... (anyhow in a not-good sport regarding my body image so let's not dwell on that, but maybe I should discuss it with the hospital psychologue next month. Don't know).

February's running toward the end and so is my "valkyrie" training... Hesitating between the brand new program - soft cardio, or Locked in. Decisions decisions!

I notice also that I definitly spend less time on different sites, so "dry january" was a good one. Only one I still spend a fair amount of time is chess.com, but that's intentional, LOL.

The comfort is surprising, and I clearly see a difference in balance too, @TopNotch . How long they will hold on Parisian stones / street will be interesting.

Mademoiselle Luna's bloodwork came back pretty good for her liver, so she's over the cholangitis, thank you for all the thoughts for my little demoness. We'll give her a bit more time to fully heal and in May probably go see again the vet for tooth cleaning + discuss what I should do regarding her kidneys. If you had a kitty with bad kidneys, tell me what you experienced as being helpful to our furry overlords.

Daily butt-ups, and now to House of the Valkirie D57. Walked outside every day a little bit.

And there we are! After two months of dedication and discipline, a new Valkyrie has risen! Behold!

You know her, you know the dark snake she is fighting and will vanquish. Quite proud of the exercise work, but also quite proud of the work with AI to get her using my own imagination and the end text of this program. And thank you Jessica Chastain for lending your traits to her, all respects and dues to you, Lady!

So, House of the Valkyrie over and done today, and that was a real good one, thank you Dareteam for it!
Daily butt-ups done, and didn't walk outside Thursday and Friday (crazy work) but I walked a lot yesterday at the Farmers's Fair (Salon de l'agriculture). Plenty of good things to eat over there, and no cows or chickens this year (because of infectious diseases) but cute sheeps, goats, adorable baby piglets, and horses and even lamas (not exactly French, but they were fun, LOL!). Walked today too.

1 year and 330 consecutive days of exercise (one year 330 days on 01/03). What, is the two years mark coming close?!
