All progress checkmarks lost

When visiting Darebee today I found that all my checkmarks for my progress tracking are now gone (I'm using the same laptop I always do, have not cleared the cookies, and tried both Firefox and Edge browsers). Are other folks experiencing this? Do you have any suggestions for recovering this information?

The same has happened to me on my phone about 2 days ago. The new checkmarks that I set after that happened are still there though, so it seems to have happened sometime before sunday 5 pm. I think the challenges where affected but checkmarks on Arcade were still there iirc.

I thought that it may have been caused by my phone or the browse app updating so I didnt worry too much about it.

This might line up with some backend updates we’ve been doing (some of the program code hadn’t been touched in 10+ years), but challenges shouldn’t have been affected by that.

Progress tracking on DAREBEE is device-specific and cookie-based. That means if you track on your phone, you’ll only see those checkmarks on that same phone/browser. If your browser app updated, your phone storage got cleaned, or cookies/site data were cleared (manually or automatically), the saved checkmarks can disappear.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a way for us to restore lost checkmarks, since they’re stored locally on your device, not on our servers. The only fix is to re-check everything manually.

Fwiw this just happened to me recently (yesterday, I think) in House of the Valkyrie. I had done about 17 days, then the next day, in the same device and browser, I was surprised to see all the checkmarks were reset. (So I marked them done again. Today I see they remain checked, yay. So hopefully it was just a one-time bug somehow caused by the recent server maintenance.)
