BATTLEGROUND 2026

The drums are back. The Hive is restless. The frosting has begun to tremble.

This is not a normal war. Normal wars are about land, pride, or dramatic speeches on cliffs. This war is about CAKE. On one side: the Light, defending Vanilla (Angel) Cake, the fluffy beacon of righteousness and suspiciously perfect crumbs. On the other: the Dark, sworn to Chocolate Cake, rich, ruthless, and definitely running an illegal crit build. Both factions claim moral superiority. Both are lying. The truth is simpler: we will punch the air until we get that cake.

Here’s the good news: there are no complicated quests, no sacred relics, and no “prove your worth” rituals beyond throwing strikes like you mean it. Every punch, kick, elbow strike, knee strike, and backfist becomes a point for your chosen cake cult. For four days, the battlefield stays open. Allegiances may wobble. Diplomacy may fail. Someone will absolutely post “I switched sides because I had a chocolate croissant” and we will accept this as valid lore. At the end, one cake wins… and everyone gets cake anyway, because this is DAREBEE and we believe in chaotic goodness. Every warrior who logs points earns the Battleground Badge: a shiny proof-of-participation for those brave enough to fight for baked goods.

THE BATTLE BEGINS JANUARY 25TH and lasts 4 days.

How It Works

  • Pick Your Side: Light (Vanilla) or Dark (Chocolate). Update your profile or declare it in the thread.
  • FIGHT: Do any combat move. Punches, kicks, elbows, knees, backfists, shadowboxing, bag work, etc.
  • Earn Points: 1 rep = 1 point. Count each strike. (Combos count each strike in the combo.)
  • Post Your Score: Drop your total in the event thread and say which side gets the points.
  • Track the Battle: Mods update the leaderboard every hour(ish) on the thread and a public spreadsheet.
  • Victory: After 4 days, the side with the most points wins the Cake War.
  • Claim Your Badge: Everyone who posts points can claim the Battleground Badge in their user profile.

Rules & Guidelines
  1. Any combat strike counts. If it’s a strike, it’s a point.
  2. 1 strike = 1 point. No cap. No mercy. No crumbs left behind.
  3. You can switch sides during the event, but points already posted stay where you put them. (History remembers.)
  4. Post format examples: “Day 1: 500 points for the Light!” “Lunch break chaos: 220 points for the Dark.”
  5. Leaderboard updates happen every hour - or so. Final scores get posted when the 4-day war ends.

Diplomacy is allowed only in the form of memes. Bribes must be paid in imaginary frosting.

x40 knuckles!

x6 on the night of the 27th.
x12 during the morning of the 28th.
x10 during the afternoon of the 28th.
x6 during the night of the 28th.
x6 this very morning.

My trick? Saving time and breaks. Instead of 5 sets of three 50-rep exercises, I did 100-rep exercises. I have made the knuckles in pairs! And instead of doing them every hour, I did them every half hour. That made a total of 4 knuckles per hour! I also allowed myself to switch to speed ball punches instead whenever I felt my muscles about to fail, so I could finish each set without losing hits.

I wanted to make this a fun and friendly competition, but I'm sorry, it's become personal as soon as someone used “Anpuankhses” and “brat” in the same sentence.

Yes, darkies, everything I said last morning about you all was true. But I confess that I have also lulled you into a false sense of security so that I can carry out my master plan. You've made me use the power of Grayskull!

After my last 10,000 points, I spent that night making more knuckles, and also as many as I could in the morning, and I even almost missed a couple of important appointments because I was making more knuckles. I took advantage of every free moment, every little break, all in a very healthy and not at all obsessively way, then went to bed late again doing more, and got up early like never before doing even more, just so I could be here at the very last minute and drop this bombshell:

30.000 hits!

Iron Man GIF

The truth is that I saw that last year's winning team scored 55,000 points, and that, with a good planning and technique, didn't seem like an unattainable goal to me either. So, in my drive to challenge myself, I decided to achieve that same score on my own.

However, I will honor my role as a being of light and do something shamelessly cheesy and unbearably corny. I will invest my points on the final teams score so that the result is a perfect tie. Because there are no good guys or bad guys here, and all creatures, whether of light or darkness, should be able to enjoy their favorite flavor.

And because, as I said in my first post, the Ma'at will not be unbalanced during my watch!

So, 30,000 points distributed between both teams!

BUT in such a way that the final result is a perfect tie!
(My points should be the last to be counted, and I'll do the math myself after everybody else's have been counted!)

The Final Score
Light: 158,583
Dark:
158,583

Note: the tie was artificially created by @Anpuankhses by splitting his 30,000 points between two teams.
It wasn't against the rules for this year but it will be against the rules next year. The score before the artificial tie:

Light: 141,486
Dark: 145,681

The DARK won by
4,195

Epilogue

The drums slow. The Hive exhales. The battlefield, once loud with flying fists and righteous backfists, settles into that special quiet you only get after four days of effort, laughter, and dessert fueled determination.

Vanilla fought like angels with immaculate form and suspiciously perfect crumbs. Chocolate fought like a velvet storm, rich, relentless, and absolutely convinced it deserved the throne. Both sides showed up. Both sides brought the heat. And the Hive, as always, turned “punch the air for cake” into something weirdly epic.

Officially, the board ends in a perfect tie: 158,583 vs 158,583.

That symmetry was created when a warrior split 30,000 points between both teams, which was allowed this year and definitely gave us a very dramatic final screenshot.

But if we’re calling the win by the score that reflects the natural flow of the fight before the split, the battlefield truth is:
Light
: 141,486
Dark: 145,681

So the DARK takes it by 4,195 points.

Thank you all for showing up, throwing strikes, posting scores, cheering each other on, and keeping the vibe exactly what it should be: chaotic, kind, and brilliantly sweaty. You made this event what it was :flowerkitty:

Now don’t wander off into the post battle snack fog and forget the most important loot drop: claim your Battleground Badge ASAP in your user profile. If you posted points, you earned it. Wear it like a medal. Or a warning. Or a tiny frosting stained trophy that says: “Yes, I fought in the Cake War and I would do it again.”

I hope I haven't been a nuisance or a killjoy.
You definitely made history  - and a new BATTLEGROUND rule for the future :D
We will also be restricting the amount of points one can add per day as to not negate everyone else's work.
You worked really hard on this so you should be super proud of yourself regardless :approve:

Woot woot! I'm honestly just happy I beat last year's score despite personal things being weird at the moment. Everyone the an amazing job and I'm more motivated then ever to get higher on that high score list next year. I was wanting to do more arm exercises so this was perfect.

Hey @Anpuankhses hope you didn't take the "brat" as a personal offense, I didn't wanted it to sound like that! So I ask my public apologies! Maybe it's a lil more offensive than I imagined. Here in Brasil some time ago the term 'brat' (in english) got popularized a bit by the internet and memes, it was being used in a very light and funny way.
I was amazed that you did 10k points 2 days for the opposite team and I used that term, but sorry if it went wrong! :thankyou: But also thank you for doing all that and motivating me to challenge myself for a day.

Thanks Darebee and community for being so incredible :tuzki-love:
and the most important, HAPPY BIRTHDAY @neilarey much love, health and exercises! :welcome::hheart:
ps: I was around when the site carried your name!

Oh, no no, don't apologize at all! I assumed that was in character and I just played along! Sorry If I've worried you!

And you did amazingly well! I really was spending my whole day to do these 10k sessions assuming that dark team wasn't gonna need to do that because you were a lot of people, so you made me skip a beat when I saw you did it too! You've been a very good rival and an inspiration for me as well to go even harder on my exercising! :welcome:

Looks like in the end both sides laid their arms down, took off their armor and got down to the real business of life:

This was awesome  especially as the lead position changed overnight so waking up none of us quite knew what to expect!

The year's got off on a great start!

Wow! Came out of my migraine fog and discovered how the battle came to such an exciting conclusion. All that is pure and holy in darkness, in the end, sortakinda overcame the light and its unholy vestige... may darkness reign! My first battleground and hopefully not my last. 💪😎

Bravo to you all!
