Clapping pushups every 10 secs?

What in the world do you guys mean by 1 clapping push-up every 10 secs during Cardio HIIT on day 8 of Military fit? It’s not clear whether you have to stop every 10 seconds to do a clapping pushup or if you do it before the set. It kinda takes away from the other exercises if you are taking every other 10 seconds to do one clap push up. Please provide clearer instructions on the clapping push-up.

It means exactly what it says: do 1 clapping push-up every 10 seconds.

The workout explicitly says to do this. What's unclear about it?

There are no breaks between exercises. Set a 10-second loop timer, and do a clap push-up every time the timer goes off. During the jumping jack segments, you drop to the floor, jump your feet back, do the push-up, then jump forward and up and resume doing jacks. (DAREBEE is infamous for including these sorts of "hidden burpees" in high impact workouts such as this one.) During plank walk-outs, climber taps, and plank jacks, you're already down on the ground. You just do the push-up and keep going.

Apologies, never have done a workout quite like that before, so do I need to account for the push-up stop and still achieve the 30 seconds for each exercise? 10 secs exercise 10 seconds push up 10 secs exercise 10 secs push up 10 secs exercise 10 secs push up and proceed to next exercise and do same. This sounds like no military workout I experienced except maybe getting smoked in basic. Sounds more like cross fit.

You're overcomplicating things. Just set a 10-second looped timer and go for it.

There's no "stop" (until you get to the end of the whole set).
Clap push-ups are an explosive exercise. They happen very quickly.

10 seconds jacks
push-up
10 seconds jacks
push-up
10 seconds jacks
push-up
10 seconds walk-outs
push-up

etc.

There's no stopping.
The push-ups are not instantaneous, true. So they do take up a small portion of each 10-second interval. Don't worry about that.

One set of this workout takes exactly 3 minutes to complete. During that time you will execute a total of 18 clap push-ups, plus do all the other listed exercises.
You could add in extra time for the push-ups if you wanted to. Just set the timer loop for 11 seconds instead of 10. I don't think that's necessary. The workout is plenty challenging enough at 3 minutes per set! But it's up to you.

Whatever interval you use, however, don't think about the push-ups as "stops". You transition seemlessly from exercise to exercise, without stopping. It's 3 minutes (or 3:18, if you want to keep the push-ups extraneous to, instead of included in, the 30 seconds for each exercise) of intense work, followed by a 2-minute break. Rinse and repeat 3, 5, or 7 times in total.
