Embracing the Absurdity

Hey Everyone,

Been on here for a few days and I’m finally ready to poke my head in and say hello.

About Me:

The username says it all;I am very short. 4’9”(144.78 cm) to be exact.

Mom/Wife/Dog Owner(Nakita) in Washington state.

You can usually find me puttering around the house, out back in my garden, reading, or…. snacking on something in the kitchen. 🤦‍♀️

Fitness Goals, Reasons Why, and Plans to accomplish them:

Goal: Be able to do 10+ Standard Push-ups at a time.

Why: I was challenged by my oldest son to a pushup contest… It didn’t go well to say the least 🤣

Plan: Wall Push-Up Challenge (March/April) >> Kneeling Push-Up Challenge (April/May) >> Standard Push-Up Challenge (May/June)

Goal: Increase my overall stamina and cardiovascular health.

Why: Asthma+a bad knee has made me stay away from most cardio based exercises. But something has to change; During our last trip to the zoo, I got winded after going up a dozen steps that was followed by walking uphill for a short distance. It was so embarrassing. 😭

Plan: Soft Cardio Program for now. Seeing how that goes first.

Mar. 10-Mar. 13
Days 1-4 went well. I accomplished all the workouts while either waiting for dinner to finish cooking or during my kid’s independent work time. (We homeschool.)

Workouts:
The Guardian Day 1-4 + a total of 200 punches
Easy Core Day 1-4
Wall Push ups Day 1-4

Tomorrow, I’m adding on the new Soft Cardio program.

Sorry for the wordy post. I promise the next one won’t be nearly as long!

March 17
Easy Core Day 7

I got less than 5 hours of sleep. I thought I could power through, but it didn’t work out. Chalking this one up to another rest day and will try again tomorrow.

Easy Core Day 7
The Guardian Day 7
Wall Push-Ups Day 7
Soft Cardio Day 3 Lvl 1

I wanted to try working out right before bed to see if it would tire me out, I think it worked.

Modified to incline push ups on my kitchen countertop edge instead of wall push ups. (Everyone else was asleep, so I worked out quietly in my kitchen.)
I actually liked those better! Tomorrow, I’m going to attempt Day One of the Upper Body and Core Challenge with incline push ups and see if I like that instead of Easy Core & Wall Push Ups.

I’m going to go pass out.:peace:

I did the same thing for the pushup challenge and found the kitchen counter a perfect balance of difficulty but doable for my strength level. Because of that, for this go around, I've modified to the arm of my couch while also doing knee pushups. It's a great building block to harder versions. 😁

Welp. So much for daily logging. Had a minor gut flare-up the last two days, was worried exercise would worsen it, so decided to take it easy. I hope everyone had an awesome Easter!

Stopped logging for a tiny bit since the weather warmed up momentarily, so any free time was spent outside getting things cleaned up.
Now the rain is back, and we’re cooped up inside once more. To be fair, it rains 3/4 of the year here, so it’s really nothing new for us. But it’s such a tease to get nearly a week of 60+ degree sunny days followed by days in the 40’s or below, filled with downpours and wind.
