Hi,

I am 53 years old. I used to exercise earlier especially during the covid lockdown period from April to October 2020. However, due to daily normal routine post covid, I stopped exercising. Now I want to start again. Could you please recommend where to start from? I am thinking of starting with Foundation Light and then a combination of Baseline and Square One. Then I can move to level 2 exercise starting with Foundation program. Do you think this is a good plan or should I take a different path?

Welcome @VHM@9 !

Yes, Foundation Light would be an excellent starting Program. Either Baseline or Square One would be a suitable follow up Program.
Starting with a Program is an excellent idea because it will provide you with a structured and progressive plan, and a workout to do each day. There's no choice overwhelm with a Program (you just do the workout specified for each day in the Program), and following a Program helps you to build the habit of exercising daily (which is important for habit formation, and will give you better training results than going hard on some days but then taking days off).

You're joining us just as we're about to start Girl Power Week, which is a week-long Challenge many of us here in the Hive are doing together this coming week (March 2-8). Connecting with the Hive community is a great way to give and receive encouragement and can also be a big help in building a consistent workout habit. So you may want to join us there for your first week. The Power of Positivity workouts that we'll be offering each day for Girl Power Week would also be good choices for your first week back. Welcome to the Hive! :hello:

I was in the same boat as you so started with Foundation, Square One, Vitality, 30 Days of LIIT, and Arms of Steel (seated). I figured I would cover all of the basis for a full body workout between those programs and if I was too sore or overwhelmed I could skip a day on one or more of them if needed.

What I found, as a newbie, was using the search option under Programs and picking 'light' or 'easy' to bring up programs that were suitable for my body at that time. Any of those will be good to get back into the swing of things. Hope you find something you'll like and be able to stick with.

G'luck!! 🍀
