"Working through Baseline"
I'll be turning 40 in March. I'm still working out some SMART goals, but I want to be generally healthier and avoid being prescribed any cholesterol medications.
My lifestyle has become even more sedentary since I started working from home during the pandemic. I work a desk job in front of a computer and now being home I don't move nearly as much as I did. When it started feeling like simple movements were taxing, I decided it was time to do something about it. I took a belly dance class over the summer, but it was once a week and I found that was all I was doing. I had seen Darebee a few years ago but didn't follow through. It's one of the few options I have found that isn't overwhelming and/or intimidating. I have a tendency to get too many ideas, overwhelm myself then never start.

I'm on day 18 of the Baseline program. This is the first time I've ever been consistent with exercise. There were 2 days that I didn't do the workouts because of a migraine, but I was able to pick back up and continue forward. That alone was a win for me.

I saw the above saying a few weeks ago and didn't think much of it. I noticed that starting this week the exercises feel a bit easier. I really didn't know what was meant by "feel it", but that's what I'm going with.
As a way to track progress, I've gotten into the habit of weighing myself Monday mornings and found myself down nearly 3 lbs. I did also take some before pictures, I'm thinking once a month will work to see progress for those.

Baseline (Level 1): Day 26
Consecutive Exercise Days: 13

I am happy to report that I am nearing the end of the Baseline program. Today is day 26. I'm actually pretty proud that I've made it this far.

It's time to start thinking about what to do next. I would like to do at least one more program before I think about switching to a plan I have to figure out myself. I was thinking of trying Reboot, to get some cardio going or possibly Foundation... But many of the programs drop down to low numbers of reps to start and I want to continue to move forward. If anyone has any advice on the progression of programs, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm on my way to being able to "see it" after 4 weeks. I've chosen the 15th of the month as my "picture day" to take progress pictures. I'm not ready to share them here yet, but at least I have them to reflect on. I am also using my Renpho smart scale to track progress like weight, Body Fat%, Metabolic Age, etc. I weigh myself Monday mornings.

I'm still thinking about SMART goals, but here are some of the general ones...

  • Get my wedding rings to fit again
  • Get firmly out of plus-size clothing
  • Weight Loss, get under 200 lbs. (This is long-term and will be broken down)
  • Body Fat %: 30-35% (another long-term goal)

Don't worry, you will move forward as long as you stay at it. If the days of the program are not enough just add another exercise or workout. There is a suggestion every day and a huge library to choose from. Good luck.
