Thanks @JCU @Anek @MangoTux @Fremen @Mamatigerj @Anpuankhses and @ZenFighter ! And everyone who reacted to my post. ^_^

It was a good day today. A bit lazier than I was intending, but still nice. Got up and fairly soon after the mate and I went for a walk before the sun went down fully (and the weather wasn't too horrendous). It had been a while since we'd done a walk outside so that was nice. Even saw two dogs that I was able to pet. <3 Afterwards, honestly, mostly relaxing. We finished off the YouTube series we were watching (so sad it was dropped) and moved onto a different show now. Took a long nap partway through the day. Honestly, mostly did nothing, lol. Though I did get a good workout in, including finishing off Cardio Blast. Woot woot! I did decided to do 30 days of Cardio (normal) so that'll be fun. Didn't really get to gaming or catching up on threads, so I'll have to do that tomorrow since that's my last day off before work.

Thanks @MangoTux @JCU @Anek @Jaga @Fremen @Maegaranthelas @NightTigress @Wloke20 @graoumia and everyone who reacted to the post. ^_^ It really is motivating, ya know. :)

Last day off before a streak of 3 work days in a row. To be honest, it was kinda hard for me to forget that fact on and off today. I've really enjoyed this time off to relax and recharge. While I'm dedicated to making it to one year (more or less), I am excited for the point when I can go back down to PRN status or possibly part-time even.

Not much to say for today. I was pretty late with it, but I managed to get my light time in. The mate and I ended up binging a show for a bit. It had been a while since we've been able to do that so it was really fun. I also made some silly "I Survived JCAHO" stickers that I plan to bring into work. And a few extra on plain paper I might stick places as a lighthearted prank. Hehe. I cleaned out my work bag to try and make it a bit lighter. And read through a few journals on here. But overall, mostly just took it easy and made the most of my last day off.

I also restarted Momentum. I don't know if it's easier than I remember or if I've gotten better than I think. Either way, I ended up going for level 3 instead of just level 2 with it. Figured I'll do which ever one works for that specific day. I did have to cool it a little with Arcade though. It's enjoyable, but yesterday evening after my workout I felt it a little in my right ankle and it was still a little sore. Hoping it goes away by tomorrow. If not, I may skip the single leg hops and stick to the other two exercises instead.

Work Night #1
  • Woke up feeling okay. A little tired, but not terrible. My watch agrees and warns about controlling stress. Yeaaaaah, bit anxious going back into work. (Plus, it's so easy to be use to being off, lol.)
  • Started new cardio program of 30 Days
    • Was hoping to do lv 2 to be the same as my other program, but lv 1 seems to be enough at the moment.
  • Made made up a new batch of sourdough crackers. This time with cheese on top. DEVOURED!
  • I was worried about being seen as "argumentative" to a higher up through email so I pm'ed them to apologize.
    • They said that it was sweet of me to reach out. So, ahhh, I guess I'm good.
  • Work was pretty smooth. Nothing too major :)
  • Some work on cutting out my silly lil' stickers. So ... many ....
  • Felt pretty lazy today, NGL
  • Nearly forgot Arcade! D: Twice! Got it in but just barely
  • Spent some time working on a paper for how to go about giving and documenting TB skin tests at work since I seem to have it figured out the best. (We started this last month or so.)
  • Almost regret offering to take morning shifts with this new round of cat sitting. It's only way home though.
    • Almost. They're so cute and sweet. <3

Work Night #2
  • Little tired when woke up. I blame trying to do that second set of exercises for Arcade though. ^_^;;;;
  • Work had chicken salad and hoped for leftovers. Apparently mate had the same, separate, thought and picked some up at the store. lol~
    • Though I prefer the more savory type.
    • Chicken salad was indeed attained. <3
  • Almost Didn't know what to do with myself when first at work. Super smooth shift.
  • Naps are a joy~
    • Except my watch keeps getting confused. It keeps thinking I'm taking 40 minutes of sleep and 7 hours of naps. XD
  • Picked up a graphic novel to read through Hoopla since it had been a minute. Really good so far. I can't wait to see how it ends. Called The Deep Dark
  • More sticker cutting. Should finish in time to give out. And do a small prank around work. (I have some paper non-sticker versions of the stars that I'm gonna stick up everywhere, lol.)
    • I told a few coworkers about my prank idea because I amuse myself
  • The one client's snail has returned! Apparently one of our RCS snail-sat last week to make sure it was safe from JACHO
  • Kitten time~

Work Night #3 (Though, I guess it's technically #1 this week. 3 in a row split between two weeks is weird, lol.)
  • Woke up feeling better than I thought I would
  • Got ready sooner than expected so I was able to watch an episode of our show with the mate
  • Family Day/Date Night (have to combine the two for this week) scheduled for Tuesday
    • Gonna do pizza~
  • Got SOOOO irked at one of the newest hires. Attitude and excuses. The attitude is what gets to me. :/
  • One coworker offered to make me a grilled cheese since she was making herself one. Yay!
    • This is extra amusing. Previously, I teased about "how dare you not make me a grilled cheese? D: " when we weren't even working the same shift, lol. So she promised to make me one sometime. So I got to joke that she fulfilled her promise. XD
  • Work was good, but a little busier. The next day is gonna be busy with an admission, discharge, and a client going to an appointment. So tried to help set some stuff up for them.
  • Mischief managed!
    • I had simple paper versions of my stars that I scattered all over the facility. And told staff to see if they could find all 24. XD But also got all the stickers cut out for staff and clients to have if they wanted.

I didn't do much of anything, lol. Slept in a good bit (though that only made it about 9.5 hours so not actually as much as you'd think). Got up and moving. Feed my friend's kitties then food and groceries. Watched a bit of show when we got home. I took a long nap after that. Then a bit more show. And then just ... chilled. Read more of the Volundio manga. Pretty typical first day after a full workweek kinda day. I did do 2 of my lil' combos for Arcade though as I'm determined not to miss a day. That program has been great for convincing me to do at least a little bit of exercise each day since I can't just double up days. When I'm done with that one, I'm gonna have to think of a replacement sorta thing that can give me the same effect.

But, yeah, that is all. XD

Today felt like a pretty long day. But that was probably because of how busy the first part was. Had to get up relatively early so I had plenty of time to get dressed, get coffee going, and ready to go for a virtual staff meeting. I'm glad I did, too, since we got the results of our Joint Commission visit. Despite checking out 4 sites and rumored to be a strict inspector, we did surprisingly well. Definitely worth celebrating! :D

Pretty soon after that it was time to head out for family day. Picked up pizza on the way close by their place so it was nice and fresh. We meant to pick up cheese filled breadsticks at Kroger yesterday, but forgot. That was probably a good thing, it's already hard not to overeat on pizza. It's so good though! We hung out for a while and then played a game of Red Dragon Inn. (It's my chosen family's favorite game. My BF has all the characters that are currently out and even tried his hand at making his own homebrewed expansion and characters.) Good times with that.

Then back home. I ended up needing a nap once we got back, lol. Hung out for a bit then snack and a little bit of show watching. Then more hanging out. Eventually talked myself into getting a full work out. But some how the last bit of the night went by pretty quickly. I'm glad there's one more day before I go back into work. And happy that it's just 2 days in a row before a nice lil' break.

Nighty night bees~ Know that I really appreciate all the reactions and such I get. While the journaling is mostly for myself (at least originally), I'll have to admit that it's motivating that people read this and care about me and my journal. It's a nice feeling. And while I haven't been good at keeping up with stuff, know that I care about you all too. You're all wonderful and should be proud of your progress, no matter how big or small it is. :)

Tired when I woke up (thinking I worked out too close to bed time) but overall a good day. Nothing was really planned. Well, we were potentially gonna redye and maybe trim my hair, but we decided to do that next week instead. Just a nice, relaxing day. I took a couple of mini naps which were nice. Got a good workout in. The mate made sourdough crackers and I had to resist eating the whole pan (though I did eat a good chunk of them). Caught up on a few threads on here as well as on my webcomics and such. We finished the show we were watching and got a few more downloaded to check out at some point.

There was a little bit of melancholy about the fact that I have work again tomorrow. More than that, a bit of concern as it's suppose to snow Friday evening/Saturday morning and I'm gonna have to drive in that and I don't wanna. D: We'll have to see what that looks like. And it's not that I dislike work or anything. I love it. But I enjoy the peacefulness of being off, you know?

At least it's only 2 days in a row. Then another nice lil' break. ^_^

Work Night
  • Little tired when woke up. I think maybe I overdid it with the exercise yesterday
  • COLD!
  • Got to work and have two orientees.
    • Minor eep! It's harder to train two of them at one time since it's harder to let them practice and stuff
    • Fortunately, it was both their first day so it was largely showing them how to do things, making sure they could log into stuff, let them work on training videos, etc. I'll get them both separately from here so that'll work out okay.
  • Smooth shift
  • My trainees are on the quieter side, but I think they'll do well
  • Left on time. Almost got to leave early
    • Glad I didn't! Our only PHP person at the moment joined the residential crew for breakfast. I don't typically get to see PHP folks so it was a bit of a surprise. She discharges after I leave so we were both excited about it
  • One more night to go!

Belarus belated congrats on finishing Cardio Blast and Momentum! Edit: typo. Belarus congrats too I guess.

It's so much harder to train two, right?! I sometimes have two trainees (earlier in the training program when they're just shadowing me and answering my questions instead of doing the practical side of the job) and whenever I do it's so tricky to remember who answered which questions and which trainee knows what. Also tough when one learns a lot quicker than the other, and you want to make sure they're still getting something out of the training despite having to take it slow to support the slower learner.

@agc - Thank you! And it really is! I'm partly relying on them to ask me questions to make sure they get it covered, lol. I did make it as clear as could that it's okay to ask questions. Even dumb ones. Even multiple times. We'd rather they ask then mess it up. And both seem to be okay with that, so I have good hopes for them. Also happy that only one day is together because I think they are learning at COMPLETELY different speeds. (My one from last night is almost ready to go already, lol. She's brilliant.)

Speaking of which, time to type up that log!

Work Night
  • Didn't want to leave the cozy bed this morning!
  • All the jacks~ Definitely feeling it.
    • May need to do another arm focused workout. I did arms of steel [seated] but may be time to do one on a higher level. (I was gonna say the regular one, but that's a 4/5 level and I'm definitely not ready for that, lol)
  • Got caught up on the manga I'm reading. It's at a big, dramatic part. I wanna see what happens! D:
  • Yay! Work had a coffee food truck stop back (paid for by work) during the day to celebrate our great JCAHO score. I was gonna be sleeping so I asked someone to grab me a latte and stick it in the fridge for me. Was successful and it was very tasty. <3
  • Only one of my trainees today, our new full time night nurse. Asked how she felt giving it a go running the show tonight. I did let her know that I was there for questions and to help out and such.
    • She said sure. And did an AMAZING job! I only had to help out a little bit. She even asked for feedback at the end. O.O She's brilliant and I'm happy to be working with her.
  • Surprise cupcakes! Snagged a couple to take home (one for me, and one for the mate). Red velvet with cream cheese. (Spoiler alert, they were great~ Working at an eating disorders treatment has it's perks, lol)
  • New trainee was also more talkative today. She was quiet yesterday and I'm ... not, lol. So I was worried about how we'd get along. But we got along pretty well. :)
  • MEEP! Forgot to do Arcade! Like, all day pretty much! Managed to get one combo and then did a little more before bed.
  • Happy the ice/sleep part of our terrible snow storm was starting later. It was only lightly snowing when I left work.
    • And Nashville (and my workplace) was on top of salting and preparing for it
  • Nearly crying over a patient leaving. She's moving to our PHP program on Monday and I don't get to really see PHP unless it's something unusual (like the day before).
    • Oops, that ended up two patients I had to say bye to. I won't be back until mid next week, and someone may be gone then. ;n;
    • They know that I am so proud when my baby chicks leave the nest. But I get so sad too! (And lol, they aren't babies. All ages of adults. But they're still my baby chicks, even the ones over a decade older than me, lol.)
  • Warm bed and off for a few days makes for one happy pup!

  • The Arcade Challege - Day 23 - Done
    • Barely but it counts!
    • 1 Combos of 40 Single Leg Hops + 20 Side-to-Side Hops + 20 Hops on the Spot + an additional 30 side-to-side hops (because I couldn't remember how much I needed and wanted to be sure to pass today)
    • 240 points today / 9840 points total (5540 Extra total)
  • Better Sleep - Done
  • Daily Doodle Challenge - Jan Day 23 - Done
  • Daily Gratitude Challenge - Done
    • I'm grateful that the roads weren't too bad. Saw plenty of salt trucks and even a snow plow getting ready for the worse parts of the storm
    • I'm grateful that our new full time night orientee is friendly and competent. (Not to be mean, but I think she's a definite improvement over the one we just lost.)
    • I'm grateful that the mate boiled up some eggs for me before work. I had a random craving for japanese styled egg sandwiches. (Well, as best as I could. For the curious, it's eggs with Japanese mayo, which is a bit sweeter than our mayo though you can convert our typical one into Japanese style. Typically with a sweet bread, which is a little harder. I usually use Sweet Hawaiian style if I can, but plain white bread works good too.)

Whoops~ Slept in waaaaay later than I meant to. I guess that meant I needed the rest. Lazy day today just trying to stay warm, cozy, and rested at home. Watched some of a new show. (Girl Band Cry, which is better than I thought it would be so far. Love the characters and their expressions. And the writing keeps tricking us a bit by not going quite with the cliches and tropes.) No naps, but lazed around. I did get a good workout in. Battleground started while still awake so tried to jump on it. Timely too, since it's a good excuse to do punches. Didn't do as many punches as I wanted to, but it's a good start. Light side has another up-hill battle this year, it looks like, but here's trying! And already asked the mate to make up angelfood cake, hehe. Unfortunately it's looking like we won't be able to have family day tomorrow since the roads are looking pretty slick and icy. And if we go, it'd been in the evening. :C We'll have to see if we can figure out a good time to go during the week before I go back to work.

But yeah, good day overall. ^_^ I'm sure there's more I could say, but I can't remember, lol. And not sure how much people want to hear about my on-and-off diving into the rabbit hole of robot cats (since I'm tempted to get one as we're not planning on getting another pet anytime soon). XD

Going based off cliff notes I wrote up before bed, though reworded instead of just wholesale like I do for work nights.

So we definitely had family day cancelled until Tuesday or possibly for the whole week. (So we thought at the time). We had quite the winter wonderland outside. While it theoretically would have been okay ... enough ... travelling up there, the thought of the mate and I traveling down after dark was out of the question for everyone. So surprise free day, snow day inside. Figured I would chill out on the computer and maybe do VR movie night since I haven't felt up to it in months. ... Then the power went out an hour or so later. D: At one point we had a blip of power for about 15 minutes (which I was happy about because I got to make up a cup of coffee and some soup), but otherwise it was gone. Though it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be? We had plenty of snacks we could eat. We did end up taking some items outside after a while to make sure it would stay fresh as the fridge began heating up. (Ahhh, nature's ice box.) We had some battery powered tea candles and let a scented candle as well. Ended up helping a couple of neighbors we well; one had troubles with her HVAC freezing over and the other who was trying to scrap ice of his car with a broom. It was strangely kinda fun though. We bundled up and took a couple of very short walks to see how the area looked. It was absolutely gorgeous. We talked. I did a little bit of crocheting by candle-light/flashlight. I had a graphic novel I had started reading that was downloaded on my tablet from Hoopla that I finished off. We just made sure we had a ton of blankets and extra layers when we went to sleep.

I skipped exercising other than 250 punches, 250 overhead punches, and 5 of my combos for arcade.

I also did my gratitude and victory (more because it's habit when I do cliffnote journals to start it with that, but it seemed like a good idea as well).

1.) I'm grateful for backup chargers (so we could use our phones)
2.) I'm grateful we had electricity for as long as we did and the little blip we had.
3.) I'm grateful that we have lots of warm blankets and clothes. (The under clothes I got for Christmas really helped!)
Victory: Surivved the winter storm so far.

Snowday number two. And still no electricity when we woke up. Which was okay, but a bit annoying. The mate emptied out the freezer and added it to the "nature's ice box" we had going outside. It was sunny, but I want to say it was below 20 degrees out there if I remember correctly. (That's Fahrenheit. For Celsius below -6.7 degrees.) We figured we would hang out in the mate's car for a bit. One, change of scenery. Two, de-ice his car slowly and defrost us at the same time, lol. Three, charge up our phones. So packed up a little breakfast of grapes, crackers, nuts, and a couple of boiled eggs and had a nice lil' time chitchatting in the car. We let the crew know that we were still without power but was okay. Obviously not idea, but we had food and we were bundled up so we figured it would be okay. It was 54 degrees Fahrenheit (12.2 degrees Celsius) so not good but not horrendous. But the crew offered us warmth and cuddles ... and leftover warm food ... and electricity for computers ... and drip coffee. The roads were actually pretty good so we made up a couple of overnight bags, things to occupy ourselves during the night, and made the trek up there. It was nice socializing and hanging out for a while. Bestie S had already moved herself and the kitties from her camper to the main house so she let us stay there so we wouldn't have to worry about keeping anyone up. Figured we'd hang out here tomorrow and then try to head back down sometimes Tuesday evening or early Wednesday morning since I've got work Wednesday evening and it'd be easier to leave from home than here.

Only did two Arcade combos today. Enough to pass the day. And 5 sets of 50 punches/50 overhead punches. Hoping to do a decent bit more tomorrow since I'm close to passing last year's numbers for battlegrounds. Though I may have to wait a bit on that angelfood cake. -_-

1-27-2026 through 2-2-2026 Log Summary
Hello bees~

So, ahhhh, been a while since I checked up on here. Short version is that the snow/ice storm massively kicked Nashville's ass. Part of it was that we were simply not prepared the way we should have been (replacing wooden electric poles with metal, getting rid of potential problematic vegetation, etc). Part of it was that the temperature just stayed freezing or below until ... well, today. Some people didn't loose electricity. Or only lost it for a short bit. We lost electricity from last Sunday mid afternoon/evening until Sunday night, just barely becoming technically Monday of this week.

The whole experience was a mixed bag. I barely kept up with the battleground event. My only goal was to beat last year. If you ignore that last year I participated for 2 days (according to my notes) and this year was 4(?), I did accomplish that goal. Went from 1200 to 1600. I am a bit disappointed that it was less per day, but I think that's fair considering the situation.

We did end up heading back to the house on Tuesday evening. Basically curled into a sleeping bag and hung out on my phone for most of it. Then moved the sleeping bag on top of the bed, put a bunch of blankets on top, and hope for the best. Fortunately, the inside temperature stayed at around 45℉ for the most part. (7.2℃) but that was still cold! Amusingly enough, I did get a bit overheated with all the blankets, haha.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday ended up with a strange bit of routine. Slept in, woke up and got ready fairly quickly (unless cuddling with the mate for a little), drove to a store to get food for the day, go to work, head home and go straight to bed, repeat. I ended up treating myself a little at the stores such as getting a cute lil' plush toy dog or treats for work. I also had trainees at work; first the full time one, then the as needed one, then on my own. Work was ... a lot, NGL. I think mostly because I was getting worn out by the weather and training. Managed to burn myself taking food out of the microwave (apparently just barely missing my eye), rip a pair of pants, couldn't get the EKG machine to work properly. And, of course, topped it off by starting shark week. -_-;;; (The mate ended up shifting to almost day shift schedule, so they were able to escape the house during day light hours as well.)

So Saturday morning, we headed back up to where the crew lived for a while. It was really fun to hang out with them. Though it was also a lot. I'm not really an introvert, but it's just a lot of people and not at my place, you know? Founding out Sunday evening before the mate went to bed that we had power back on. So hung out that next evening after I woke up. And now, Monday evening (technically Tuesday morning) I'm back home and quite happy about that.

That was a lot of writing. But I still want to write about the end result of all that.

Emotionally, I definitely struggled. It was fun at first, then kinda neutral. But as the week went on, I became more and more depressed, tired, and frustrated. The mate definitely helped it from getting too bad (they are very much a realist-optimist as weird as that sounds). I do not tolerate cold well. And we had no idea for most of the time when we'd be getting electricity/heating back. I loved that the Nashville community pulled together to help each other, but there was also a lot of frustration as well. Plus trying to put on a good face to my clients at work. That all said, I strongly appreciate the heat, electricity, fresh brewed coffee, my own warm bed, and other small scale stuff much more than I did before. I get the philosophical idea of going out and doing a "cleanse" of creature comforts to break away from the hedonistic adaptation trap that's easy to fall into. And I do believe that I handled the situation much better than I would have done in the past, even a few months ago. Just glad that work week is Thursday/Friday/Saturday so I have a couple of days to reset before going back in.

Physically, yeaaaah, I gave up on most exercising and stuff slowly over the week. I am disappointment that I fell behind in Arcade. But giving myself grace considering the situation. Hoping to get back into it tomorrow. I definitely eat the best, though I did make efforts to eat some greens and not go too crazy with the snacks. Basically a "could have done better, could have done worse" situation. Again, not terrible considering the situation. During the storm we did end up losing some food from the fridge/freezer. But we agreed that it was 1.) a good opportunity to clean those items and 2.) lets our have a semi-clean slate for rethinking our shopping habits. Gonna try to do better with planning out meals and having healthier options on hand.

... Basically this is just a long post to say that last week was horrible, but could have been worst, and hoping that this week goes a lot better. Definitely made some memories this week (both good and bad). And now just trying to get my footing back again. Also, did not end up getting that angelfood cake, lol. I may end up doing that later.

That's all for now, bees~ Backe to our normally scheduled program tomorrow.

Thank you @Laura Rainbow Dragon @thatchyfern and @Lady Celerity

I'm not sure the rest of Tennessee got as effected as we did. Even in Nashville, it ranged from those who weren't really affected at all to those who are still without power. :/

Today's goal was basically to return back to normal, or even improve on it, without doing too much. Which was both easier and harder as I was trying to be super vigilant on my mental state. Unfortunately had my last down of my antidepressant on Monday and having trouble getting it refilled for some reason. :/ I've gone through similar before back when I tapered off of it years ago and accidentally didn't go slowly enough. So I kinda know what to keep an eye on. Plus, I have better skills, better mental health, and better overall health than before. Still, I got back on it for a reason! D:

That all said, it was a good day today. Got a full workout in which felt harder after the break but also satisfying in a strange way, lol. The mate did some work on organizing the pantry and other food items and a little bit of grocery shopping while I was sleeping. We will probably be shifting to more cooking and less quick meals which is a slight concern (I always struggle with figuring out how to cook for one if the mate is sleeping while I'm awake) but I'm sure I'll get use to it. Along those lines, I also decided to go ahead and get back into calorie counting. Y'all know I've been debating back and forth on it. But I think it'll be helpful, so long as I 1.) not worry about getting numbers exact and 2.) allow grace if I go over. Whiiiiiiiiich, we'll see how it goes, lol. But, yeah, already today I see that I would have accidentally over done it. So I think this will be a good thing. And may help me adjust my diet in the future to better hit nutrition goals like protein and fiber. I'm using Cronometer since I think I've seen people on here use it before.

Also trying to be mindful of how much time I'm spending on my phone games. Reminding myself to pause and do other things like book reading (versus the online webcomics, etc that I do), personal shows, or creative stuff. Also trying to drink more water since ... yeah, it's no surprise I'm bad at that with as much coffee as I drink. (Especially these last few days.) And picking up a little more around the house. I've enjoyed letting the mate do everything as the house-spouse. But honestly, doing a little bit is a good way to get some dopamine going. ^_^

So yeah, trying to do a lot. But it feels like it's a good time to since we had a soft reset anyways due to abnormal week, having to restock food staples, etc. I don't think I'm over doing it. But we'll see how the next few days go.

Oh! One more thing. I'm drying that daily doodle challenge. I've got a few more days for January to finish still. But I looked at February's list and it's a bit ... repetitive. Granted, the site I was getting my lists from has apparently been doing it for years so that's no surprise. But I think, as nice as it was, I want to put more effort into other creative things. Or maybe make my own list occasionally or something, IDK.

But, yeah, that's all for now. Which is enough, lol. Good day, productive but also relaxing.

Today was a lazier day than yesterday, but still a good one. I got a notification from my pharmacy that medication was ready. (I heard back from my PCP's office as well. Apparently they tried to contact my old PCP which was why it got denied. >_<;;; ) So off to pick up my medication and grab groceries at the same time. I had a bit of anxiety going through the store, trying to help the mate figure out what we needed and such. Trying to stock up on healthier things as well as only really picking up things if we were planning to use it soon is definitely not a strong skill of mine. We use to do more formalized meal planning but it's been a while. I'm proud of myself for recognizing it, though, and responding to it to manage it better. And we did a really good job keeping from getting snacks and stuff (since we still have plenty of that, lol).

Well, so long as you don't count the fact that we got pizza for dinner. In our defense, we had reward points that were going to expire soon! And we at least got spinach on it so that makes it slightly better, lol. But it's definitely not helping the calorie counting.

Which, so far is going alright. Still slightly annoying. Partly because I'm getting use to the app. I am realizing that I'm gonna probably have to give up on worrying about charting things per my "day" and just record it for the calendar day. Mostly because I'm letting my watch talk to Cronometer about my exercise, but it records that (and other data) per calendar day. So it's already gonna be wonky a little bit. That does mean that sometimes days will show two workout sessions, but I think it'll be okay for now. At least, gonna give it a try and see. Ahhh, the joys of being a (very) night owl in an early bird world.

I also stumbled upon a reddit called Petite Fitness. For short girls who are getting fit. I don't actually have a reddit, but it was still pretty encouraging to see people with a similar build as me doing similar journeys and having similar struggles.

Mostly kinda lazy. We watched a show (Girls Band Cry) and finished it off. Then remembered that a discord we're both in was streaming the Stargate movie so saw that. They also did the first two episodes of the show, but I bounced before then. Caught up on my webcomics and played on my phone some. I found a cute horse game on my phone I figured I would try out. I can already tell it's a giant trap (both as a time sink but also it's got gacha elements to it). But I think, as long as I set a timer for it, it should be okay. ... I think. ^_^;;;

Now to get to rest for start of the work week tomorrow night.

Work Night
  • Able to finish catching up on webcomics. Yay!
  • Talked to the mate about getting some protein powder. They liked the idea too. So they figured out a brand to try out and ordered a tub of vanilla and a tub of chocolate flavored. ^_^
  • Got a bit stressed with calorie counting. >_<;;;; I'm nervous about going unhealthy again (like the last two times) that it might be making me go to the other extreme of worrying. Gonna have to keep that in mind.
    • Reminded myself that I'm just suppose to be logging this first week or so. It's okay if I go over a bit, I'm working on being aware.
  • Oops, forgot that I'm orienting my other trainee today.
    • Honestly, she just needed a little help. I think she needs more time instead of the half-orientation they were suggesting. Luckily we're scheduled together for at least one more time. I'll think she'll get there though. She is only doing once a week, so that makes it harder to learn the ropes.
  • Got to play a little bit of my new horse game on my phone. Still figuring out how much I'll like it.
  • Oh no! My trainee is sick so she needed leave early. (She asked and I was 100% okay with that. It was near the end of the shift anyways.) But we've got another day so it's okay
  • Tried a greek yogurt cup at work. The mate likes the stuff. This was vanilla versus the plain, though. Tasted pretty good!
    • Hoping to be able to maybe flavor plain greek yogurt myself versus getting something like Go-Gurt or Danimals. Cheaper and probably healthier that way.

Work Night
  • Momentum was a struggle!
    • Felt good defeating it though. ^_^
  • Tried the vanilla protein powder mixed with almond milk. YUM!
    • Could only drink half of it though before work. It was very filling. Ended up using the other half as creamer for my second cup of coffee, which worked pretty well.
  • Miscalculated getting ready time before work. D: But it was okay, still had time to get gas and get there on time.
  • Only a little bit of homework from day shift. Though I could only do part of it since I don't have access to one section.
  • Worked ahead a little setting up stuff for Monday's admissions. Figured I would do it while thinking about it since they just notified us
  • More grace with calorie counting today. Let myself treat it almost more like just food logging and not worrying if I had no idea how much I had of something.
    • Hoping I can keep this attitude up
    • And yes, the irony of struggling to develop and maintain a good, healthy attitude with calorie counting while working at an eating disorders treatment facility is not lost on me. XD

I didn't remember to write notes before my night ended and when I got home, I just wanted to crawl straight into bed. So brief notes this time, lol.

Work night went pretty smoothly. Was a bit busy since I was doing most of the monthly tasks as well as weekly stuff. (There was one large task I decided to wait until next Saturday for though.) Other than getting steps in, lol, it was pretty chill. We also have a fan that's not working so I tinkered around with that. That's not something I do often, but it's fun to try and figure stuff out. Didn't get it fixed, so figured I would take it home and play around with it since it was just gonna be tossed anyways.

Cardio felt like a good workout. Again, arms felt like the weak point with it. But glad I decided to just do level 1. Did well with calorie counting as well. I realized one of my default work snacks for eating with the Clients was less a snack and more of a meal (well, for me anyways because I'm so short). Even though it hasn't been a week yet, I am definitely realizing I have been eating more than I realize. Meal changes are going well. Lots of pan-fried chicken tender, but I really like that so I'm okay with eating that often.

I do wish I had left work a little earlier than I did. Well, I don't regret my decision. I just have concerns about it, lol. But the day shift was a nurse I haven't seen in a while because our shifts didn't line up so we caught up for a bit. Only an issue because I couldn't sleep in afterwards, lol.

I'm sure there were things I meant to write about that I've forgotten about. Oh well. XD

Fairly lazy day. The crew (except Bestie S, who had a bio-family thing) drove down here since I worked last night. I woke up and got out of med just after they arrived. Fairly chill time just chatting and hanging out. We did put on a movie that the BF wanted to share called "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka" which was just amazing. Good times. After that, mostly lazy time. Started a new series which has so far proven to be an interesting concept but a TERRIBLE execution that has made it come back around to being kinda entertaining. But mostly in a "where are they going with this" kinda way. XD The mate went to bed fairly early (for us) since they've moved to a day shift schedule. (Not sure how long that's gonna last, TBH.) So I hung out for a bit. Read my web comics, played on the phone including my horse game. Got a pretty decent workout in, though it felt like a much easier one than expected. I was kinda tired since I couldn't sleep in today, but I didn't have too much trouble with it. Hopefully I won't regret that decision tomorrow. But I can sleep in tomorrow, so that should be fine, lol.

Not a lot to say. Good day, hopefully good sleep and repeat it. :)

Good chill day. Got up and the mate suggested we go for a walk since the sun was still up and it was surprisingly warm outside. It'd been a while since we could so we went the longer route. Felt nice, though I could tell it had been a while since I'd gone for a walk. ^_^;;; Ended up going out to get Arby's for food since it had been a while. We're trying to cook more and, if we do go out, to make it things that we don't keep in stock at the house.

The main thing today was that it was ~HAIR CARE DAY~. We trimmed my hair (the half shave DEFINITELY needed it), then bleached and re-dyed the colored part in the front. Went from the pink it was before to greenish-blue. <3 I'm so happy. Though I realized (much later) that maybe I should have kept it pink until after Valentine's Day, lol.

The other exciting thing is that I spent some time messing with the fan from work. Learned A LOT from it. Thank goodness there are so many smart people making guides and youtube videos online. Managed to break into the fan, get it cleaned up, found the motor and lubed it up. Still not blowing cold air. Took another look and found a brown spot on the black bit of electronics. (I don't know what it's called, lol.) So yeah, almost certain that the electronics got fried during the power outage. Intrigued that the fuse wasn't blown (that was the first thing I learned to check). Sad I couldn't fix it, but still counting it as a victory for learning, giving it an attempt, and honestly just letting myself fair. Because I'm not buying a new part and learning to solder for this, lol. But I don't do well with failure, so this is a HUGE win for accepting it without getting upset with it. ^_^

Now I'm off to bed like I should have done a little bit ago. Night night bees~

I always struggle with figuring out how to cook for one if the mate is sleeping while I'm awake
Cook for two and keep the leftovers in the fridge for later!

Would a meal planning app help with this? I admittedly have used and can recommend only one of them but this one (Rainbow Plant Life) has really tasty and balanced meals that reutilise components to lower prep time and food waste (and grocery costs over the long run), puts everything into an ordered grocery list for you, allows you to scale the recipes and automatically adjusts the grocery list etc. I found it really helped me stop overthinking things when planning meals/grocery shopping. Mind you it is plant-based. There might be other sites/meal plan apps out there that do similar stuff. This one's got a free week as a trial.

sometimes days will show two workout sessions, but I think it'll be okay for now. At least, gonna give it a try and see. Ahhh, the joys of being a (very) night owl in an early bird world.
Omg this is the worst. Lost count of how many times stats in apps have been messed up for me because of shift work! Not everyone finishes the day before midnight!!

Congrats on finishing Arcade too!

Honestly, cooking for two probably is the best option. I'm sure the mate wouldn't mind my leftovers, lol.

Honestly, not sure the meal planner would help. Mostly because I can be slightly picky about things. I've gotten better with it! But still have a bit to go. Honestly, what we should do is make our own menu. We've talked about having a list of items we regularly like. And maybe have the dry erase weekly planner on the fridge. We've mostly found it difficult when the mate is on a day-shift schedule and we have half of our meals separate. We'll figure it out though. I appreciate the recommendation. ^_^

And thank you! ^_^
