Looking for complement to running program

Which program would you recommend to pair with an existing walk/run program, to work on things the running does not work on.

(The walk/run program alternates days of zone 2 for fat burning with higher intensity to build cardio reserves, and hopefully work up to 5k in 45 minutes.)

You might want to check out Darebee's Running programs and save whatever portion of those workouts you find helpful:

I'm almost done Foundation. (Go me!) Hero's Journey looks fun. I'll see if I can think clearly enough to follow it!

(More fun: I'm an oral storyteller with an interest in story structure. I have "thoughts" about the Hero's Journey, the book it's first in, and its effect on modern stories and culture. It's done a lot of damage to both!)
