WEDNESDAY 5 FEBRUARY 2025
~Ugh, i awoke a little after 3 and could not get back to sleep, so i got up. All was not lost though, as i used the time to get caught up here on the Hive. I started feeling sleepy around 6, so i climbed back in bed for a 90 minute nap. I sacrificed my morning walk, but i think the sleep was more important.

  • Exercise of the Day (#647/547)
  • Personal DareBee Workout Challenge #476: 3-Minute Wake Up! (dif.2) x3 substituted to tap hops for the other hops, step jacks for half and jumping jacks (split and seal were low impact as well), and front kicks for straight leg bounds; did it 3x
  • Fighting cancer: 100 front kicks

  • Program: Express Tone day 5; level III; 5lb db; 1min rest
  • Stomach Vacuums +ec been wanting to redo the challenge, but i like this better
I have been experiencing some mild DOMS the last couple of days, not really uncomfortable, just there. I noticed it in my glutes and upper hamstrings when i got up yesterday, then my obliques starting last night, and all continuing today. It actually gives me a sense of accomplishment, because i had been worried that i was doing too little.

Thanks, @graoumia! I'll pass the birthday wishes along. I have only ever had one journal on this site (except for the food journal i recently started in the food section); the link is correct, it just goes to the first page.

Morning Meditation
Going to be spending Sunday through Tuesday nights at my daughter's house, taking care of her 7yo and 2yo, taking the 7yo to school in the mornings, then bringing the 2yo back to my house to watch him and the 11mo (different daughter's) as usual. Their Daddy will pick the 7yo up from school, but he works an overnight shift, so that's why i need to do that. I will be glad when Wednesday comes! Not sure what my exercise will look on Monday & Tuesday, but i will do something.

Sunday night with the grandkids went fine until the 2yo woke up crying around 1130 and didn't get back to sleep until about 430. Poor thing, he was on antibiotics for a double ear infection a couple of weeks ago; apparently they didn't kick it. Monday was a sleep-deprived blur.

Thankfully, the 2yo slept better Monday night. Gave him Tylenol before bed; he woke up crying at 1220, but went back to sleep after i snuggled with him for a bit. A couple of hours later he crawled into bed with me; he was very wiggly but not at all fussy. One more night and i can be in my own bed again! I love my grands, but i'm getting too old for this. :tired:

  • Extra Credit: Do all the kicks at head height. :haha: nope.
That would be something! (I'm pretty sure that workout shouldn't be classified as Level II anymore under the new system. Head-high kicks or no.)

Tuesday night: Grandson woke up crying and coughing an hour after bed. I went in, snuggled him, got him settled again lying on top of me; a few minutes later he coughed so hard he puked. Yep, all over me. After that, the night was uneventful.
On Wednesdays i don't watch the 11mo, so after taking my granddaughter to school, grandson and i went back to their house and he was able to nap on the couch off and on throughout the day. I think that really helped. Their daddy picked up granddaughter from school and brought her home, and i was off duty! My daughter came home Wednesday night.

I never liked the man, never trusted the man, never voted for the man, nor any who support him.
I am saddened and ashamed by the things he has said and done as the leader of my country. I do not share his views; he does not speak for me.
I am trying and will continue to try to do what i can to make this country and the world better.
I am not very eloquent, and i have so many thoughts and feelings that i am unable to articulate; i wish i knew how to express them here.

Dear @Mamatigerj : I have not been shy about speaking my mind re: the things going on in your country these days. I've not held back from blaming the people who did and still do support him either. Our votes and our voices have an impact, and we all of us need to take responsibility for that impact. But I want you to know that I see you. I see you and others like you who did not vote for and do not support the ugliness. I see you and others like you speaking out now, and doing what you can--sometimes in big ways, sometimes in small ways, sometimes in downright scary ways, but doing it nonetheless--to fight the darkness and to be a force for good. I see you, and I thank you. His shame is not your shame. I still have faith that you and all the others like you, fighting for good, will be able to turn the tide and defeat the monster. And when that happens, the rest of us will be able to welcome the US back into our community. Battered and bruised, surely. But we will welcome you back all the same. And we will remember those of you who stood steadfast and strong and never once strayed from the path of kindness, cooperation, and love. You are a hero!

  • March Challenge: Atlas days 1&2 ~cautiously tried this and decided to give it a go; doing the easiest variation (knee down) and the middle level (1min per leg); because of my cranky knees, on some days i will begin on my mat and move "up" into the lunge rather than standing and stepping "down" into the lunge

None of these happened, because youngest daughter needed to talk and husband wanted to watch something together.

Spent the rest of the morning in ED with youngest daughter, who had an allergic reaction to something and could not stop vomiting. We got in quickly; they gave her an IV with 2 antihistamines, a steroid, and an antiemetic, all of which helped immediately. Labs came back clear, and we were in and out in about 2.5 hours. On the way home we stopped for food, because she was hungry!
  • March Challenge: Atlas day 4 caught up now
  • Fighting cancer/Workout of the Day/Personal DareBee Workout Challenge #499: Cyberpunk (dif.3) level I +ec side bridges were from knees

Watched the Presidential address and Dem response, so no evening wind-down. (Though in retrospect, i realize i could have done things before since it started at 8p.m. in my time zone.)

WEDNESDAY 5 MARCH 2025
Back in the ED with daughter, because she started vomiting again at 2a.m. Another IV and this time they gave us a scrip for antiemetics and steroid when we left. Got home about 530 and napped on the couch until just before grandkids arrived at 8.
