Day 73
d73.png

Thanks for the cheers @Princess Fancy, @THew8 (I'm going to try 😄), @MangoTux, @CODawn, @Fremen, @TopNotch, and @Anek!

Spent the day running errands, finishing up some courses, packing the car, etc and trying to get through as many P&Cs as possible before bedtime. Some of new programs are time intensive, which adds a lot more time to my overall workouts compared to before. I couldn't get through all of the challenges because of that, and that's okay. I'll just get to them when I can during the day from now on instead of at night when I usually do my workouts. Oh, and I am not going to replace the two I just finished with new ones. I think my plate is more than full right now. 😉

Day 74

No P&Cs today due to spending 12hrs at an agility trial where my pup and I sprinted 1000+ yards over the course of the day and I did over 15,000 steps. Trying to watch/listen to an indepth seminar via zoom while walking the courses was an interesting lesson in memory management and concentration. But I survived and my grrl, Syn'r, earned a big title - Gold Award of Merit. Tomorrow she has a chance to finish off another Gold title so fingers crossed she keeps her feet up, her listening ears on, and I don't mess things up. 😆

Day 75

Wow! Can't believe I'm at 75 days of continuous exercise now. Just 25 more to 100. 😁

Anyway, it was another day spent running my BC at an agility trial. She posted either the fastest time or most points over all dogs in a number of runs 🤯 and earned another big Gold level title to go with the other one she earned yesterday. So proud of my big grrl. 💗

I did not finish any P&Cs today after doing over 14,000 steps with a ¼ of those involving me running next to Syn'r. BUT, I did jump onto the Treasure Hunt event, naturally, because I'm a glutton for punishment. 😆 So I ventured into the 🌋🔥magma chamber🔥🌋 via 700 fast marching steps and 100 pushups. Bertha is not happy with my obsessive commitment to eliminating her. 😉 Teasure Hunt just reaffirmed my resolve.

Thanks @TopNotch, @Fremen, @THew8, @Jaga, @Princess Fancy, and @CODawn for the lovely comments. 💗💗

Think I'm gonna head to bed early for a change because I am pooped beyond all reason. Night y'all.

Day 76

Woke up very sore all over. :surrender: I think I did too much trying to keep up with the youngin's at the trial on the weekend. I keep forgetting I'm middle aged. 🙄

Decided to give my old body an actual rest for a change, so only did my wellness challenges (that I don't list here), a kettleball workout, and put 7000 steps on my walking pad. Spent the day working on the computer, cataloging my FUNKO collection, and playing a bit of Elvenar before heading to bed early (for me) at 1.3o am. 😆

It was a cold day, yet the sun was more than warm enough to still melt anything directly under her rays, including the snow that fell over the weekend. That meant some amazing icicles were formed on my gazebo and north-facing gutters just outside the kitchen windows. That also showed me that I am going to have to get up on the roof this spring and clean those bloody gutters because they are obviously full of something to create those icicles despite having gutter guards on them. 🤨 It's always something.

Day 77
d77.png

Back at my regularly scheduled P&Cs. 😉 I decided to drop Cardio Go! because it involved a very lengthy timebased set of workouts per day and I don't have the time for it. I figured I could pick it up later on when I'm not doing as many other timebased programs. This is what I 💗 about DAREBEE. You can do what works best for you, no matter how little or how much.

Finished Foundation Light and have deciced to replace it with 30 Days of Cardio Light so I can keep an even number of programs. Got a jumpstart on the new April challenge, Jumpstart (how apropos), and then jogged for the first time in my life! 😲 I actually jogged over 30 minutes going 4.5mph and clocked 2.87km/1.75miles without being exhausted, massive stomach cramps, etc. 💪😎 All of the usual things that used to happen to me when I was younger and had to run distance in P.E. Nobody told me that if I slowed down and took smaller steps that my fast twitch muscles could be built up to handle 'distance running'. I am so stoked I had that epiphany a little while ago. Once again, all thanks to DAREBEE. Maybe one day I'll even 'run' long distance. Who knows???

Thank you @Jaga, @TopNotch, @THew8, @Anek, @NightTigress, @Princess Fancy, and @CODawn for the encouragement. 🥰

Woke up with exceptionally sore calves and shins. Mayhaps my body was protesting its first successful jog the night before? LOL. Either way, nothing was going to stop me from finishing my P&Cs today. Not 14hrs of computer work. Not a 1.5hr zoom call with a potential new client. Not even The Modo jumping on top of me for all of my ground exercises - the little 💩!!

Halfway through the day my adjustable dumbbell set arrived. Now I will have dumbbells and a kettlebell that will adjust from 5-18lbs to work out with instead of the cheap dollar store 2/5lb dumb/kettlebells I currently have. I love the fact that they have square edges so I can do plank/pushup work with them (eventually). And the best part... they were 1/3 the price of their retail value. Su-weet!! My shoulders and arms are really going to scream at me now. Muhahahaha!

They're so purrrty...

Day 79
d79.png

Another long day on the computer as I tried to finish everything before me and my pups headed out early the next morning for a 3.5hr jaunt down to Calgary for a scent hurdle racing tournament. Finished almost all of my P&Cs throughout the day and only had the April Challenge to do before bed. Ran out of time to do a dumb/kettlebell workout, so I didn't get to try out the new set, dagnabbit! Can't wait to see what my randomiser picks for me. Hope it's for the kettlebell and doesn't involve yucky squats. 😆 I'm trying to decide if I should replace my finished challenges with new ones or just wait until the next batch and then swap. 🤔 Bertha is saying nah. I am inclinced to agree with her for a change. Gotta love first world problems. LOL!

Day 80

So I ended up only getting 3.5hrs sleep before having to drive 3.5hrs down south early Friday morning for a scent hurdle tournament with my pups. 🥴

My young one had a blast racing blended with a bunch of new dogs. Scent hurdle racing is a dog sport that involves 2 teams of 4 dogs racing side by side. Each team goes over 4 jumps, spaced 10ft apart, down to a divided box that holds 4 wooden dumbbells. Each dog has to find their dumbbell by scent only (usually their own but sometimes their owner's), pick it up, and then bring it back over the jumps before the next dog can go and do the same thing. A boxloader replaces the missing dumbbell with a spare bell, so each dog always sees 4 bells on the box. The fastest team to bring back all 4 correct bells is the winner. Lots of speed going down the lanes, finding the bell, and coming back is the ultimate goal. My dogs have all done that very well and my youngest is no exception. Except... she likes to make the box explode by hitting it hard before she goes to find her bell. Her enthusiasm for the sport is a bit over the top and she really makes the poor boxloaders work their arses off. 🤣

Either way, it was a long day of racing where I put over 13,000 steps on my watch before having to drive back home that night. By the time I got home I was beyond exhausted. I didn't do any P&Cs but did do 100 punches to keep my streak alive and went straight to bed, which was uber early for a change.
Onwards & upwards, baby!:cape:

For those wondering what SHR looks like, here is a video of my first BC doing it in the old days. She was an exceptionally talented dog and could air scent from 8-10ft away from source, which was such an anomaly.

What a busy few days — so many things to comment on!!!

Better abs: Congrats on the new badge!! 🤩🎉👊🏼

Soreness: Hope it’s good soreness and not bad. Epsom salt bath helps tired muscles, I find. I won’t have access to a bath for a few more weeks, but I can’t wait!

Dumbbells and kettlebells: yay!! It’s so much fun getting new workout equipment. Let us know how you like the kettlebell.

Randomizer: Qué? I did a search for it but couldn’t find. I’m sure I missed it somewhere along the way — I’m so not detail oriented 😬

Scent hurdle racing: I mean this is so freakin cool!!! I wanna see a clip of your youngest exploding the box in all her puppy enthusiasm hahaha

Way to keep it going during insanely busy days! You rock!🤘🏼

It's heavier than the dollarama one 😉🤣

I just found a simple randomiser app for my laptop to use. You can also find them for your phone too. There are tons in google play and apple app store. 😊

I'll compile a bunch of clips and post them in the next day or two. I wish I could say it is puppy enthusiasm but she is going to be 5yrs old this month, so I can't use the puppy card for her anymore. LOL!

Thank you @THew8 & @Jaga for the 'grats!! 💞

Was still tired from my whirlwind trip down south, so I chose to only do my Challenges and no programs, which was more than enough to keep me occupied for a couple of hours before bed. Stepped on the scale the next morning and found out that after 80+ days of working out every day, eating sensibly, and not snacking much, I am down a whole whopping 10lbs thanks to DAREBEE. Just 20 more to go to where I was at before COVID. 🥳🎉 More importantly, the inches are coming off and that is a bigger win in my world than the weight loss. Bertha is a former shadow of herself and hopefully by summer she will be just a small blip on my body's healthier new me. 💪😊

Hoppy Easter 🐰🐣 to my fellow bees!!

Randomizer!! I put one together myself … completely basic. Just two random numbers from random.org 1.) an integer between 1 and 3 that „tells“ me to do the workout easy, normal or hard 2.) an integer between 1 and N that gives me a random page of N. Rey’s workout books…
I put basic statistics of my workouts in a markdown file using an App where ALL my computer-file stuff goes - into obsidian / www.obsidian.md (see screenshot). Then this wonderful app „EasyDataTransform“ on Mac collects and does some statistics on those data. See screenshot.
cheers!, Martin

Was competing at an agility trial all day and then got home to work on the computer for 8 hrs so did not do any of my programs or challenges, BUT I did put over 15,000 steps on between running my two dogs along with building courses, which also involved moving equipment, so some natural strength work. All in all I did approx 11km/7miles of movement over an 8hr period. Go schmee!

:tuzki-hero:

For those wondering what dog agility is... here is me & my Papillon competing at Worlds.
Congrats on all the workouts! The hard work will pay off and a day off helps the body reset. Just took a week off for camping and cave tours.
LOVE seeing the agility! I work in the vet world and I love seeing dogs doing sports, especially ones that people don't expect to be running an agility course. Little dogs don't have to be just couch potatoes and fluff. Those brains need stimulation too. Love this!

Very cool! I just use a basic one to pick a random dumbbell/kettleball workout to go along with my roster of programs and challenges already being worked on and also to pick my next program or challenge based on the specific criteria it is is replacing (cardio, strength, equipment, lower/upper body, etc). Nothing nearly as extensive as yours but the spreadsheet that I use to keep track of everything workout related lets me create many wonderful stats. 😉😆

Day 82
d82.png

Same old, same old today. Was designing agility courses all day, played a bit of Elvenar in between mental blocks, worked out between Elvenar bursts, rinse, & repeat. Too windy and cold to do anything outside but make sure the hoses & pump were clear of ice just in case, which was a good thing because the water was flowing at times. Always amazes me that during this time of year it can be cold enough to freeze surface water but in the same breath the sun &/or wind can melt it too. 🙄

Don't know if it's the weather but have been feeling blah for a few weeks now. Hoping that will change by the time Spring truly starts rearing her pretty little head. I think I need some 🔆.
Onwards & upwards. :super:

Thanks @Jaga & @Anek for the encouragement. 🥰

Tried out my new adjustable weight set and made a kettlebell with enough weights to bring it up to 12.5lbs. Worked like a hot damn, @THew8!

KBell.jpg

Huge difference compared to the cheap 5 pounders I have. Tried the Synced workout with it and man, that was a workout. I have room for 2 more weights, so I'm hoping to add one to the current mix in a few more weeks after I build up a bit more strength and another in about a month. Wish me luck!

Oh, and we entered 6th winter last night/this morning. I must say, I am really getting tired of the pretty snow. Would rather see brown instead at this time of the year. Ah well. A shovelling I must go!

Day 84
D84.png

I was so busy that I didn't have enough time to do all of my P&Cs 😞, so I decided to power through just the challenges instead and finish off a couple more. @Thanks for the congrats, @Jaga, @Princess Fancy, @Lady Celerity, and @Zenchan. I really appreciate it. 💜

Picked out some new challenges and I am trying to decide whether I should start a daily 'jog' challenge (using one of the walk or run ones) or not. 🤔 Things are starting to ramp up and my weekends will soon be full of judging agility trials until the end of summer, which will only give me weekdays to workout. Might have to change up some P&Cs as time becomes more of a factor. Jogging might help with that. We shall see.

I live in a rural area and that means going to the gym is not an option. DAREBEE allows the gym to come to me and I am uber appreciative of the hard work that the DAREBEE team have put in to keeping this wonderful resource alive for a noob like me. Plus, I love, LOVE, LOVE the dashboard. It totally rocks!

Another busy day chained to my laptop. By the time I should be heading off to bed, I realised I had done virtually nothing exercise-wise except shoveling snow. 😯 Figured I'd just do a few of the 'easier' challenges until that turned into more and I was half way through my P&Cs. 😆 Then I saw the clock, and also realised I am an idiot to be staying up past 3am to finish them all. 😵 So half were done, which is more than what I was originally planning on doing. NONE! 🤣. I still have my treasure hunt chest reward for making it to the magma chamber - a full day of rest without losing my DAREBEE streak. I guess I will save it for another day. 😉

Congrats on completing FOUR new challenges!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Loved the snowy pic!
I’d love to jump naked in it right now. I’m melting here in Grenada. Tropical heat on a boat with a nice breeze blowing is one thing, while you’re sweating your a$$ off in a paved boatyard is an entirely different thing! 😅🔥

And how cool is that DASHBOARD! How did you find that?? What other cool things am I missing out on? You’re so techy and on the ball! 😎
