Hi there!
maybe someone knows an answer to my question. My daughter just arrived in Australia. She baught a sim from aldi mobile and a mobile plan for 39$.
To me it seemed on their website, they would have cheaper ones. But in the app this one is absent.

Is it that expensive?
Any alternatives? She needs maybe 10 to 15 GB and free calls and sms I suppose.

A mobile plan is comparable to something like prepaid or is it for a longer term like 24 months or more?

On the app it's $23 for the 12 GB mobile plan. $39 seems a bit expensive - my guess is either it's for the cost of the initial SIM or she's on a Pay As You Go plan (significantly more expensive). Tell her to download the app and when she recharges to go to the Mobile Plans tab. The plans only last for a month, but if you're not using all the data it'll rollover to the next month (I've got about 115 GB up my sleeve at the moment). Hope that helps.

@agc Thank you very much for your explanations.
She explained it to me later: She had bought a sim from Telstra. It is one of the biggest in Australia - so therefore the price. She said, she didn't find an Aldi in Perth. Now she wanted to stay with this plan, because she had a signal even when she was away from the bigger city in the "outback".

Now is the next store about 7 km away and she doesn't want to go there and change the provider. Well. I would have, if I was her, but...

I switched to telxi a few months ago and it's been smooth. I like that I can manage everything online without needing to call support all the time. Their data rollover works well for me since I don’t always use my full allowance. Reception has been fine in Sydney and Melbourne, even on rural trips. It’s also nice not being tied to a contract since I’m not sure how long I’ll stay.
