Sunday was a busy day doing errands in Civilization and I got home very late. Today I am feeling low on energy, maybe because of the high pollen count. And lack of vacation! 🙂

It's windy today plus high pollen which means that lots of people are sniffling and sneezing. But everything is blooming and green and very Spring-like. :flowers:

Several coworkers were out today which made things very busy. There's a nasty virus going around which has led to pneumonia for half a dozen adults I know. My immune system seems to be holding it's own thanks to years of working in a petri dish environment!

I woke up feeling a little under the weather today and haven't improved but I don't feel worse so that's something! Wasn't I just boasting about my robust immune system?? :facepalm:

My boss sent me home sick on Friday and I have been taking it easy. I'm feeling a lot better now after resting for a couple of days.
It's Pixie's birthday today! She's 3 (about 28 in cat years). Just like a typical cat she couldn't care less. :sweat:

We've had some rain today and I am hoping it will wash some pollen away. Last night I made a vegan taco soup out of pantry ingredients and it was delicious. I've been waiting to shop for groceries until the month is over and have been getting creative with what's on hand.

Yesterday was not a good day (parent wanted by law enforcement, lots of student behavior issues). After work I went to Civilization to stock up on groceries and gas. It was late by the time I got home and put everything away. Then a family member came over and proceeded to vent for another 40 minutes. :p Game over.

Today the staff was treated to a yogurt parfait and avocado toast bar. I probably ate too much but avocado and sprouts on sourdough is healthy right? :tears:

At last the work day ended and I'm off for a week! :worried:

Ah Saturday, my favorite day of the week. Slept in and made Darebeets applesauce cookies. The recipe is from the old server I think but I have a printed copy. I like them with coffee. Now I'm catching up on chores but slowly. The phone is not ringing. There are no students who need a bandage or parents wondering what time does school get out again? It's quiet. :sadkitty:

Happy Easter everyone! It's a beautiful spring day, warm and dry. After church I began watering the garden and am making my favorite dessert for later--homemade strawberry shortcake. I make the shortcakes with full fat coconut milk and they are sooooo good! :drool:

Another sunny spring day today. I tackled the tall grass on my property using my new electric string trimmer and electric blower. Plus mowed the lawn, raked, watered and weeded. I put in 20,000 steps and my arms feel like limp noodles from lugging the heavy battery powered tools around. I wasn't able to finish whacking all the weeds though --an acre is a lot to do in one day. But everything already looks great.

Yesterday I went to Civilization for an appointment and errands, then chorus rehearsal. It was a long day.

Today the DOMS from all the yard work is horrible. I should've known better. I went for a hike but it didn't help and my back is not happy at all. :confounded:

We got some awesome thunderstorms this afternoon. The air smells amazing.

The fact that you had the willpower to do them speaks volumes about how much of a tough cookie you are.

Went to Civilization yet again yesterday. This time it was for fun with my daughter. We hit up some cool thrift shops and had dinner at a Mongolian restaurant. We got caught driving through the mountains in a whopping thunderstorm, I could hardly see the road. Nevertheless my body isn't happy with all the driving and rich food. Good grief I feel like an old person or something! :eyes: After a poor night's sleep I'm back at my routine. Consistency is key!

This week off has not gone the way I anticipated but I'm thankful to have had some time for honest self reflection. I've been a bit of a jerk lately and have only myself to blame. I've been putting off some needed changes. Sooooo, I'm making some shifts in my self-talk, nutrition and really limiting my media intake for starters. I press on. :ready:

Today I also made Rice & Tofu Nori Wraps from the Darebeets site. They were really good! I'll be making these again for sure.

It was a good day at work today! :ss:Amazing since it's 1. Monday and 2. Monday after Spring break. Yes, there were a few students who struggled to readjust to school (or who didn't show) but my coworkers were cheerful. It was beautiful weather: bright blue skies, white puffy clouds and a dusting of snow on the mountains.

A cold Spring storm is blowing in. It's the kind of weather that finds me craving hot soup and wanting to curl up with a book and blanket. :scroll:
Today the older students built catapults and were chucking cabbages. It was fun to watch them as they figured out how to get their catapults to launch farther.

I have had a nice day. Slept in, did some random chores (it felt like a good day to clean out the cupboard underneath the kitchen sink and organize my shopping bags), and then lots of yardwork. The weather was glorious. I decided not to do the Workout of the Day today since I'm already pretty tired from running the weed whacker. #listeningtomybody

Today was one of those days when I wondered if I really can continue to work in such a stressful environment. It was not a good day at work, nothing but student behavioral issues. All. Day. Long. Add to that roof leaks and heat pump issues at home. Fun! :p

Friday! Woo hoo! I had a meeting all morning at headquarters and then the rest of my workday zipped by. I'm tired. There are opportunities to go socialize tonight but my batteries are needing solitude to recharge.

Went to Civilization today and bought a paddle board!! I'm so excited to try it out. Unfortunately we have thunderstorms today so I have to wait for better (and warmer) weather. It will be fun on the lake this summer :D

I went to the local high school musical production today. They did such a great job!!! Seriously, for such a tiny rural town we have masses of talented people. It was fun seeing several former students from my school onstage. :blackout:

This morning, while bending down to pet the cat, my lower back went out. It's been spasming all day. I did my exercises anyway, because that usually helps, and it did help some. Thankfully, I have today off work and also had booked a massage. I'm hoping my masseuse can help my back to mellow out.

My back is feeling a tiny bit better, but not much. Getting up from a seated position throws my back muscles into spasms. It hurts so bad I feel nauseous. :sadness:It was a struggle getting out of bed this morning! Trying not to get discouraged. This too shall pass. Pressing on!

It may have been dumb to exercise, but usually some movement helps. I took everything down a notch and only did Level 1.
