POTS/Cardiac Reconditioning

So, it’s suggested that when starting cardio with POTS/dysautonomia that exercises be done while recumbent for one to three months before progressing to sitting exercises.

I’ve been looking through the seated cardio program, and they’re not that easy to adapt to recumbent workouts. And the existing recumbent workouts I can find often lack the continuous movement needed for cardiac reconditioning.

The “recovery” collection is great for mobility and strength. But I wish there was something similar to the “long covid” collection that actually could be easily adapted for lying down.

Unfortunately I don't know about that, but I can suggest that, if your circulation in your legs/feet are good enough (both venous and arterial), you could try wearing graded mild compression socks/lower limb compression stockings to exercise.

If possible, I think perhaps doing rowing in a machine or swimming would be the most beneficial for POTS/dysautonomia, based on the current medical evidence.

This webpage suggest ideas for the cardio at home you requested, and is a legit page specially dedicated to people with POTS/dyautonomia.

Also this might help:

Bear in mind that if you have a trifecta like POTS/dysautonomia + EDS+ MCAS, there are more considerations to take in mind.
Factors like ME/CFS, fibromyalgia or autoimmune diseases, they might also affect you in ways that might make you intolerant to some exercises, especially if you are medicated.

All the best.
