I took two walks today. On the first I walked 1 km in an hour and 6 minutes. On the second I walked 3.2 km in 41 minutes. That first walk was through Ikea. It was wholly unsatisfying. I didn't buy anything either. The sun was out in the afternoon and it turned into a beautiful day. I went for a second walk in the park along the lake near my house. That walk was very satisfying. I held a faster pace and set a post-surgery PR of 3.2 km.

Thanksgiving Day, 2024: It was a pretty chill day (I was told that by my neighbor's daughter who was up at 6:00 prepping dinner for 31 people). It was chill. Just dinner for my partner and myself, though my son did pick up a plate for himself too. Day started out in a cold fog, 1C / 34F. Sun came out later and it warmed up. Nice afternoon walking weather. I didn't get very far before feeling the effect of the extra long walk the day before. Turned around and returned to cooking logging 1.2 km.

There was apple cake too.

Thank you, @Anek. I had a piece with a coffee after parkrun this morning.

I started the day early volunteering for the local Parkrun. It was my first time back since the start of all my medical problems. It was cold. It was a little sad because knowing I won't be running in any future runs. Running off to parkrun also threw off my usual workout routine. Warmup and Cardio Light before dinner today. Yoga before bed.

Another quiet Sunday. The sun was out for most of the day, bright and cheery. I started the One and Done challenge because it's the first day of the month. Not sure if i will embrace the challenge yet, but I jumped in and gave it a try. I defiantly choose the "slow butt kicks" option.

I gave my day away to my partner today. She is leaving tomorrow to visit family. But first she had to finish decorating for Christmas. This is our first Christmas in the new house. She has pulled all our combined Christmas decorations AND what she still had stashed in a storage locker. It's a lot of decorations . . . and a lot of decorating. I gave my time to help out so she can feel like she got it done. I was active all day, but focused on the tasks she laid out for me. That's eight sentences to say, 'I didn't go for a walk today."

I was generally low energy today. I seemed happiest just sitting in a sunny spot in the house. I had become my cat. :cup:
But then, my cat did not complete a morning workout, or go out for an intentional walk. :curlz:

Thank you, @Laura Rainbow Dragon, @TopNotch , @Fremen , @Syrius, @PetiteSheWolf, @CODawn. Today to overcome my low-energy-morning syndrome, I baked blueberry muffins.

IMG_2024-12-06-100329.jpg

I mixed up the batter last night while I still had energy. This morning I got out of bed and turned on the oven before feeding the cat. By the time morning meditation was over, I had fresh baked muffins! I made a double batch because I was finishing off some older berries. I started Foundation, Day 1 while the second batch baked in the oven. I'll freeze some for later.

Started Saturday volunteering at parkrun. It was pouring rain. My thought -- and I said it out loud -- was, "I'd rather be running then volunteering today." There were 40 participants, one walker. I stood in the rain for 90 minutes. The walker was a first time participant. I have to give her a lot of credit for coming out in weather that kept away ALL the other walkers.

The rain finally stopped in the afternoon and I went out for my own walk.

Day 4 of Foundation looked harmless and simple. However, the forward leg lifts did not aggravated soreness in my right hip flexor. I stopped after 3 sets on the right, but added two more sets for the left.

Not sure where all those steps came from. I suspect I was pacing around. I intended to take it a little easy today. I still went to the park for a nice walk. I can say that i did no heavy lifting today. My legs felt better this evening then last night.

Foundation Day 6 forced a modification. Who would of thought that flutter kicks would be the big no, I can't-do-that move. Not the crunches or the sit twists, it was the flutter kicks that my hips were not ready for. I quickly substituted side leg raises. In the spirit of Fit December, I did them all in one go. Oh, and I didn't check the set count before I started and did 2 extra sets, 7 in total. Good for me.
