I am very tired today due to poor sleep. I might have finished HRC a bit late in the evening, but I have no regrets about that. I did get two nodes written in my notebook. I'll get them up probably tomorrow. Also, I think I'm going to be a bit sore tomorrow, but that's alright. I'm just going to keep giving my best.

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

"Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities... because it is the quality which guarantees all others."
The Feather Drift:
The air in this room had a presence of its own, a life, and the feathers that floated through it defied gravity. The feathers were of various colors and sizes and trembled delicately as the air moved. It felt like a carefully kept balance that I dared not to disturb. But I nearly did as the gravity of my next step pulled me down so hard that I nearly fell. My tired legs protested the fluctuations throughout my entire, slow journey across the room. I dared not move faster, feeling like an intruder in a sacred space, afraid to fail and anger a god. My fingers brushed the seal and it sighed in unison with me as I slipped through the door to the passage to the next.

The Storm Column:
Where the previous room as the calm before the storm, there was only fury here. The wind ripped through me, chilling me and then the first strike of lightning made every hair stand on end. I stood in the shallow shelter of the entrance, observing the room and puzzling out the path. I could see the metal posts winding their way to the center of the room.
Surely not. There is no way. Electricity is a dangerous friend. But if the posts were close enough...
Before my mind could dwell any longer on the danger of being struck - before my courage could leave me behind - I darted out to the first post. The lightning did strike me then, but the metal post acted as a grounding rod. Quickly and carefully, I moved from post to post, keeping in constant contact with a metal post as I continued to get struck on my way down the path. I didn't let myself count the strikes, but I resolved to get myself checked out once I was done here. This much electricity cannot be healthy! I finally reached the end and saw the metal plate in the center. I pulled off my boot, reached out and carefully placed it on the plate before stepping the rest of the way over. Inexplicably, the storm swallowed itself.
I sat there for a while, recovering and pulling my boot back on. I updated my map, and then I pulled out my dice. Having rolled even, I continued my path through the right-hand door. [straight down on the map]

The Shadowed Bridge:
There wasn't much ledge between the entrance and the bridge. It creaked and shifted under my feet, making me feel a little nervous. I glanced behind me to see that the shadows of the pit were emerging and creeping quickly along the walls and then on the ledge towards me.
No. Thank. You.
I ran as fast as I could, faster than was likely safe on these planks. I dared not look back again, for I didn't need to know if it was closing in. It either was or it wasn't, and the knowledge would not change that fact. The space above the bridge narrowed suddenly and I launched myself towards the wider gap at the bottom, scrambling through as fast as I could and all the while clutching my satchel to keep it from getting hung up or losing it. The bridge slopped up for a while and then suddenly there was a gate. I heaved it open and slipped through, barely ahead of the shadows.

The Last Drop:
Well, this would explain why the last room inclined up - this room spiraled widely into the depths of the Labyrinth. I could make out something glinting at the bottom, but I had no idea what it could be. It could be nothing more than a shiny floor, a dead end, or even a door. Or it could be a lure and something would eat me. Because, why not. Ultimately, it doesn't matter what it was as I began my careful descent.
It felt like the pull of gravity was once again variable as it seemed to pull on me to move faster and with more abandon. Recklessness would serve me no good here, so I resisted. After the previous room, this one was so much harder because I could still feel the adrenaline coursing through me. I paused here and there, feeling the burn of my legs and resetting myself when I found that I needed it. The slope of the spiral and the tightness of it increased dramatically the further I progressed until I couldn't see any other alternative to sitting down and sliding. I attempted to control it, but it became more difficult as I gained momentum. As I approached the end, I saw the rope and I reached out and grabbed it, stopping myself from crashing into the black glass door. I pulled on the rope and the door cracked open, permitting me and my exhausted self to pass through.

The Memory Weighing:
A feeling of déjà vu settled upon me as I entered this chamber. I know with absolute certainty that I have never been here before, but memory weighed heavily upon me here. The room itself reminded me of Egyptian mythology, except that it wasn't my heart on one side of the scale and a feather of Maat on the other. The chains creaked ominously as tension was applied to the scale.
On the surface, this room was easy - restore balance to the scale using the tokens and the room will rest. In practice, it proved far more difficult. Each token I moved was physically heavy, dense carved stone or metal. Each token with its unique carving elicited such memories, that it was hard to continue at times.
The elation of achieving magna cum laude in university.
The weight of almost dying as a kid and the terror at realizing how close it was when I was older.
The loneliness of each dear friendship I have lost.
The joy of marrying the man I love and I call my dearest friend.
The triumph of winning a good chess match, a well-matched challenge, of solving a difficult puzzle.
The sorrow of every heartbreak.
The fear of every bad decision.
Each move reminded me of a memory. But these are memories that make me who I am. And I couldn't think of the person I would be without them. Finally, I slid the last token into place and the chains released the scales, allowing them to settle gently to rest. A glowing caught my eye and the words resonated within me: "The past is weight. Balance it or be crushed by it."
I left the room, taking my memories with me as my inner fortification against what was yet to come.

Alright! Just node 39 and 32 to be caught up.

Steps: 5,293/7,240

At work:
A grand total of 360 push-ups: consisting of 0 full push-ups and 360 knee push-ups. I'm not sure if I should count towards 50 Push-ups 13 because I didn't exactly do what I was supposed to (16|10|5), but I did do either 30 or 40 at a time straight every hour. I also just could not do a full push-up today. I guess I'll decide tomorrow when I come to log? Yes, I'm going to let it count. My intent was there, but I just couldn't get the full push-ups. And I knew when I started this that it was going to be hard to get the full push-ups every day, especially with the extra push-ups. I will continue to endeavor to do all the push-ups for this challenge as full push-ups.

10 jumping jacks, 10 squats, 10 calf raises, and 10 negative calf raises

I have been feeling a little nauseated the past couple of days, on an off. Well, today, coughing has joined the party. And I am feeling sore and tired all over. I made the command decision to (a) do less push-ups if I was going to continue insisting on participating :v:, (b) stop trying to compete with the woman who came totally out of left field, doing almost 800 push-ups on 3 of the days :v: (she passed me as #1 woman on the board and I've been bumped back to #5 overall. And I mean 800?! that's a lot! :whaa:), and (c) try to rest this evening :v:. I did do the jumping jacks to see if I wanted to at least get the mini done, but I'm going to keep it real, I am sore all over and tired. I highly suspect that I am coming down with something. I did finish the mini after all.

In other news, I realized earlier today that I passed the number of push-ups I did for the challenge last year. Last year, I did 2,570 knee only push-ups. I am feeling pretty good about that.

I'm going to finish my hydration for the day, go make some more progress on a chainmail dice bag that I think I'm going to put up on my Etsy, and get to bed at a decent hour. :night:

Also, have I told you lately that you are awesome? Because you are. Have a wonderful day Bees! :lovelots:

You are awesome. Congrats for pushup record, i really wonder if you are still able to move your arms ... :shakez:
Thank you!! :bigsmile:My arms felt like they were noodles last Tuesday. For the most part, they are just buzzing a little. Sore, but not hurting. I was a little worried doing the day in the Labyrinth where you have to keep your arms up. That was tough with how sore my arms are! Plank work has been interesting too, but that is almost more in my head than my shoulders. I just did 40 arm circles, just to see how those would feel. And then I realized that arm circles were the exercise of the day, so I did some more!! Anyway, they felt pretty good.

@Mamatigerj Thank you! :tuzki-love:

The Guardian's Hall:
I entered this room, feeling a sense of awe wash over me. I never would have expected such feats of architecture to be replicated here. The vaulted ceilings, the intricate columns, and stained-glass windows that were lit with light that couldn't possibly sunlight - it was amazing. And there, at the very end stood a massive figure, awaiting patiently as I entered the room.
But once inside, it began to move as I did. The more I moved, the clearer that fact became and the heavier the pressure of the room felt. I stood still, and the weight began to lessen. A test of stillness and patience perhaps? Not my strongest suit, but I gave it my all. I sat back on my feet and meditated using my breath and my favorite imagery - a calm clearing in a vibrant forest - to keep calm and spend the time recovering.
After everything I had been through, it was both nice and exceedingly difficult to endure the quiet. I had come far in my journey and I realized that I didn't care what physical objects I might find here because they don't matter. The truth of the journey of self-discovery has been more than I expected but was the best prize possible.
I opened my eyes and began a series of slow, careful movements until I finally placed my hand on its chest. I don't know how I knew the right moves or if there were wrong moves, but they must have been at least right for me because the guardian dissolved into smoke, leaving the exit open to me.
... Except that it wasn't. I laughed until my sides ached. I had found a locked room and I just had to know what was inside and unfortunately for me, I didn't have a key. I sat down with my map, and ate an apple that I found. It was good and I didn't care where it had come from. I saw there were four paths untaken and I decided to back track to the one closest to me, the one branching off the storm room with the metal posts. I rested for a moment longer before I set off. The path back was a breeze in comparison and I was there before I knew it and ready to face the next challenge.

The Quiet Vessel:
I entered the next room and the pressure of the silence was immediate and so overwhelming that I could hardly breath. I couldn't even gasp at the weight. The panic set in swiftly and it took me several moments to restore myself to a resemblance of composure. I knew that the only way out was through, so I took in my surroundings. Next to me, there was a pedestal with a bowl of water and on the other side another pedestal. I steadied myself and picked up the bowl. As I stepped forward, the floor hummed in my soles and shifted. I took a moment, renewing my resolve.
It would be okay. I just had to go slowly and focus on my feet. In doing so, I noticed an etched line in the floor and I let it become my beacon, my focal point and I began to walk along it in earnest. It was a hard, punishing task and it took every iota of my focus to make it across. I was immensely glad my wing kitty, Erebus, was not here to help trip me up.
Once the bowl was in place, I stepped through the now open wall and breathed deeply for several minutes before moving on.

The Thousand Eyes:
Never in my life did I feel so watched, so judged, than I did when I entered this room. I ducked like I was shadowboxing and the eyes moved with me. I stood there, watching the Watchers for a moment before I noticed the thin beam from one side of the room to the other.
There was nothing to do but to start walking it. As I carefully moved, I felt less judged and more like they were silent witnesses, the Watchers who will attest to my success or failure as a dispassionate observer. The eyes were stunningly well crafted, a sure distraction that I didn't let myself dwell upon. One misstep would surely be the end of my journey and I wasn't about to find out how I would expire in this room. I made it across, happy to have made it and happier to leave the Watchers behind. I did notice another door out, but since I was already at this one, I just walked right on thru.
On my way to the next room, I was surprised to find a fellow traveler traversing the Labyrinth. I was happy to make NightTigress' acquaintance before we both moved on to continue our journeys. It was so nice to see someone else in here!

I AM CAUGHT UP!!!! :twirl: I am going to try to stay on top of it from here on out. It might be difficult if I do multiple rooms again, but I'll do my best!

The Empty Throne:
I didn't like this room from the moment I entered. The jet-black throne called to my weary body, inviting me to sit on my laurels and be content with what my journey has been. But if I stayed, I wouldn't see M or the kitties again. This would be it; this would be the end. Here, in this winding place I would rule over the dust motes and skeletons. That was not the ending I wanted.
As the throne was the only obvious object, I circled it. I noticed two glowing sigils - one on the floor and the other on the throne. Since I don't want the throne, I touched the one on the floor. Another lit up and another after I touched the second. I continued touching the floor sigils until the light faded from the throne's sigil. Once it was extinguished fully, a panel clicked open, and I ran for it. I didn't want to stay here. I had refused the throne, that is true, but I didn't want to stay in this room where temptation so plainly sat.
=================
Today has been pretty low key thus far. And I am happy to report that I got 8 hours last night. I'm still feeling a little off - a little fatigued, congested, and coughing occasionally, but I think the easy day with some more good rest tonight should help knock it out of my system.

I had planned on trying for a second node of the Labyrinth or IRONBORN. If I do end up feeling spunky this evening, I might come back for one of them or 30 Days of Yoga. We'll see.

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

I now owe 6 nodes. I'm going to need a moment. :tears: I'll get some scribbled up while I'm on break tomorrow.
=================
Phew, we did a ton of meal prep and that felt like a lot today. But we are ready to go for the week and we even tried out a few new things - making gluten free pie crust on our own and crockpot chili.

Overall, I'm feeling fairly well rested and ready for whatever tomorrow may bring. I think my strategy on focusing on plank work for the Miner this weekend will pay off and help me to get through the plank work I've been avoiding in Ronin (ugh, plank walk outs) and the new plank work that I unlocked today. Knees are a little upset, but they aren't too bad as long as I take my time and warm up properly. (Hence the squats I couldn't fathom doing this morning that I did this evening.)

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

I wrote up 2 nodes today. I'll get them up soon!
=================
I started the day out okay, but I suddenly started feeling super nauseous around 1430 and it didn't go away until after dinner. I just curled up and did chainmail on the couch all evening. Upside, my first dice bag that I want to put up on my Etsy shop is nearly complete. But I haven't yet figured out a new closure method. My current one is somewhat complicated.

And then I forgot to post this. XD

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

Hi Syrius,

You look like a wise and determined person, and I saw that you managed to do 50 push-ups in one go. Congratulations! I’ve been struggling with that for months. Whenever I get close to 40, something gets injured. Not because of the push-ups themselves, but usually something else from my other workouts, either chest, shoulder, or elbow. Then I have to restart again from 20–30.

I actually promised someone special that I would finish this challenge, and now I’m starting to feel embarrassed that I still haven’t managed to pull it off. Do you have any good advice for me?

Hey Gurg!

You are too kind! I had forgotten that I had actually once achieved the 50 push-ups in one go. I am struggling my way through the 50 Push-ups Challenge to get back to there.

I don't know if it helps, but here's what I been doing over the last year.
I started last September with this same work challenge - do as many push-ups as you can for your team and compete against other teams. Last year, I did much less push-ups and they were all knee push-ups. I think I was doing sets of 30 at a time and I would also do Darebee exercises containing push-ups for variety. Throughout this past year, I have worked on doing more push-ups and whenever possible, trying to do full push-ups. I still can't do 50 full push-ups in a row, but today I could do 20 full before switching over to finish out the group of 50 with 30 knee. I think what has worked for me is doing a lot of extra plank work - plank & elbow plank holds, climbers, rotations, etc. to build up the strength and stamina to hold the planks long enough to do the full push-ups. Don't shy away from your core work. (I am guilty of doing this myself!) There have been many times lately where I have noticed that my core is the reason why I switch back to knees, not because my shoulders are tired (because they are). Working building up quantity at a lower difficulty (knees) then transitioning up to full is what has definitely worked for me.

It sounds like you might need to build up in a similar manner, focusing on strengthening what is failing you.

Don't be embarrassed, push-ups are intense and use a lot of muscle groups. I hope that what I've shared helps!

Thank you, Syrius. Just the fact that you took the time to reply means a lot and is such an encouragement to me. I’ll continue with the gradual program toward reaching 50 push-ups, and I’ll also work on strengthening the muscles needed for it. Wishing you all the best on your journey. I kiss your hands, My Lady.
(It sounds little bit theatral, but I can't help myself)

I believe in you Gurg! That program is a fantastic place to start. I am here if you need me.

I bless thee, Sir Barbarian, with courage and strength. (I get it, I can't help it sometimes either. It's the medieval reenactor in me.)

The Singing Stone:
I stepped into the room and it was like I had tapped into the vibration frequency of this place. It was like life was thrumming through me, but there was something off about the melody.
Hah, imagine that - my tone deaf self talking about something being off melodically. But it was more than the actual sound, I could feel it in the vibrations and I let that feeling guide me more than the sound.
I touched a slab, feeling its note change until the vibration felt right. The sound felt clear, so I moved to each one in turn, tuning them by touch and by ear as best I could. When the final panel fell into place, the resonance solidified and faded away. A hidden panel slid away in the wall revealing the path forward. There was a second way out, but I once again found that I didn't possess the key. I filled in my map a little more and I think I have determined that both locked doors access the same room. Okay, now I am sure that this room was special. Now where is that key?

The Hidden Garden:
I passed through into a room that was simply impossible - a flourishing garden full of the most delicate flowers and vines that enshrouded the stonework. Centered in it all was a fountain. This room felt like someone's secret paradise and I could feel that it would be wrong to stay long. I approached the fountain, taking some of the water as I thought. There was something about this room...
There was a passage I remembered from my research about this place.
... and in the heart of the garden, let the oldest show you the way...
I always thought it had to be a metaphor, but perhaps it was literal. The fountain is clearly the heart. But what in here ages? The plants of course! I found the largest vine, as the oldest of my succulents is also the largest, and I took a leaf. I placed it on the water where it shimmered and the water darkened and rippled as a latch emerged. I pulled it and left the garden via the newly revealed mossy staircase.

The Twin Veins:
I stepped in and I could feel the air thru running with expectation. I stopped, observing the two different tunnels. The floor began to tremble and I knew I needed to move.
But which to pick? Steady and predictable or light and full of possibility?
Hope. I picked hope and I took off the tunnel, giving my mad dash everything I had. It brightened around me and my focus narrowed on making it through and before I knew it, I was on my way to the next room.

The Hourglass Court:
Sand, something I was very familiar with. This room felt familiar reminding me of my home. Except that sand doesn't fall from the sky nor fall through a hole in the ground. It was difficult to wade through the sand as I slogged through and I barely went anywhere. When the drain would open, I felt like a tidal, gravitational force was pulling me in. I braced and held against it. I quickly decided that my progress through this room must be a marathon, not a dash. As I neared the center, because, obviously, the most efficient path is the most direct, I noticed a plate the same color as the sand. I stomped on it with all my might and the rotation of the room ceased immediately. I struggled over to the now open gate and took a moment to recollect myself before passing to the next challenge.

Chamber of the Bells:
The room reminded me of the lofty bell towers of cathedrals, not just because of the large bells, but in the smell of the old metal and the air remembering the toll of each bell. As I approached the copper bells, given the green patina, they began to gently swing and ring on their own. It wasn't cacophonous, but the discordant sounds of wind chimes or an orchestra warming up. I placed my bag at the edge of the central juncture of the room, so I'd know which way I came from.
Stepping into the center, numbers flashed on the floor - 3 1 5 2. Upon closer inspection, each of the 5 bells were numbered. I started by quieting #4, as it wouldn't be needed. The remaining four needed to be timed and after some trial and error, I had them ringing in order and it produced a sound like a heartbeat. I shivered and the room shivered eerily with me. A deep bell sighed softly somewhere and the three doors out opened. 3n+1 = left, 3n+2 = straight, and 3n = right. I rolled a 12, which is a multiple of 3n, so I went right.

Okay, I am now behind by one. Well, until this evening. ;) Where I'll either be behind by a few more nodes or I'll get caught up. We'll see.

"Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities... because it is the quality which guarantees all others."
Tuesday, 23 September Wins: 337 days
Steps: 8k+/6,370

At work:
A grand total of 450 push-ups: consisting of 36 full push-ups and 414 knee push-ups. This includes the completion of 50 Push-ups 20.

10 jumping jacks
:rstar: The Miner 25
> 15 knee push-ups (+25 extra because I wanted to try to get to 500 today.) - 1 pile of dirt and 2 diamonds?!
Squats r2 16
20 calf raises & 10 negative calf raises
1 min plank hold - penance for the major modification I am about to make. My arms are too tired to hold plank for climbers. I barely made 1 minute.
Dinner break - because I am just too hungry!

:gstar: The Labyrinth n14 lvl 3 - modified to march steps, high knees, toe tap hops, and high knees. The trade I made was I could do it as laid out at level 1 or take it vertical at level 3. Oh, and I think I need new bicycle shorts, these ones are starting to falling off.:LOL:
40 full speed butt kicks to Node 13 - my ankle is still not a fan of butt kicks. I've got to find some more strength there.
:gstar: The Labyrinth n13 lvl 2 - ugh, ankle!
40 medium speed butt kicks to Node 8
:gstar: The Labyrinth n8 lvl 3 - rolled 9 (multiple of 3n) - went right
40 medium speed butt kicks to Node 9
:rstar: Ronin's Blade r2 21 - Shadow Wolves - the 180° twists are trippy. :dizzy-face: In other news, I plan on stopping my avoidance of my skipped day. Plank walk-outs won't conquer me and I think I know what I was doing wrong with my back on them anyway. (Thank you Darebee videos!) Just not tonight.

I owe 4 node stories. Lol, I didn't expect to undo all my catching up today.

My arms are feeling a bit noodle like this evening. I didn't want to modify node 14. I'll do some extra climbers when this silly work challenge is over. I don't even know what we are aiming for now - we passed our total from last year over the weekend and there is no other team that has the numbers we do. :gotq:

I'm just going with the flow and it is fun to see just how much more improved I am. And I do have a goal - to do more than the other lady that is directly competing with me. She is trending towards doing more than me in a day, but she doesn't consistently do them every day. So, I actually do stand a chance. :smirk:

OKAY, Here's how I feel about my current rotation:
* :rstar: Ronin's Blade r2 - I love this program and it is possible to finish this month with some effort. I just feel bad about Apollo.
* :rstar: IRONBORN - I enjoy this program, however, it has not been getting the progress it deserves. I will be restarting this one, when I go back to 1 cardio and 1 strength program, not 2 RPG, 1 strength and 1 yoga. I'll let it stay for now, to count for any bonus points that I feel like earning from it.
* :rstar: 30 Days of Yoga - I have a like-hate relationship. There are some flows that I like about this, but there are a number of moves that are too advanced for me. I am going to keep this one on, just because I am halfway through.
* :gstar: The Labyrinth - I am pushing hard on the Labyrinth just because it is so fun to be doing it at the same time as other people and there is a part of me that really wants to finish it this month. Yeah, I know, that part of me is VERY ridiculous. I have 14 nodes left and there are 7 days left in the month. Plus a ton of butt kicks to go around. But it is what is making me happy and workout properly.
* :rstar: The Miner - The only one that I am extremely confident about finishing this month and certainly not from lack of effort.
* 50 Push-ups - This has proved harder than I thought and I appreciate that I allowed myself the leniency with form of push-ups. Though, I will have you know, I did 20 full push-ups straight today before switching to knees. I am very proud of this. So, my real goal here is to not aim to do 50 in a row, I can already do that with knee push-ups, but to do it with as many full push-ups as possible.
* Squats r2 - ugh squats. But, I do firmly believe redoing this challenge has been good for me and I am glad that I am doing it.

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

I had a fairly quiet day today. I got allergy shots, did some chores, and went to the grocery store. I do like it when I go by myself because I can listen to my audiobook, but it goes faster when M comes with me.

In other news, I am starting 12/12 fasting. The weight loss doc wanted me to start with 16/8, but I need to build up to that. M says he'll do it with me, but I don't think he's realized I started yesterday. So today was the first full day with a designated eating window. I think the worst thing I can do is have dinner at the very end of that window, like tonight when (a) I almost ran out of time to finish my meal, and (b) now an hour in when I am starting to feel a little hungry because dinner was small both in size and in calories.

The story of today:
* I woke up hungry at 5am
* I ran my morning errands in such a way that I ended it with picking up a healthy omelet and a not so healthy coffee.
* Then I started doing chores
* I ran out for cat food because we were bad adults and didn't make a note to get more when we emptied the bag into the feeder
* So many more chores & I decided to get a jump on meal prep
* Next thing I knew, it was 4:30pm and my feet hurt, I had barely sat down, and I had been locking my knees so my right knee was also angry with me

Yup, then I finished it off with some medicine and elevation. Everything feels a little better except my left arch. I am really not looking forward more kitchen time tomorrow. M's not home to help, so I've been without the usual assistance in the kitchen.

I'll get some desk time tomorrow, so I'll get nodes up and I'm hopeful that tomorrow I'll at least get to do a node.

"Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities... because it is the quality which guarantees all others."
The Painted Door:
I entered the room and I was stunned by the vivid mural. But my thoughts were interrupted by the door closing behind me, merging with the mural and sealing me in. I took a breath and let me out. There was a test to pass here, or else I was sealed in this room forever. I took a look at the mural, just taking it in and remembering the Outside. Without even meaning to, I reached out and I touched the mural and it rippled under my fingers. It was just so real, but also just so far away.
The door shimmered at me, but it didn't budge. But three other panels glowed. Body-Mind-Soul. Tree pose was a natural choice, feeling my body tremble and stretch from the pose. My body shaking from the effort, I moved to the next pose - Goddess. The trembling muscles quieted, but it was now a battle of my mind that I fought to still my mind and quiet the desire to leave the pose. Finally, I settled into the Child's pose, which provides a beautiful, quiet moment of rest - a balm for a busy soul. I held it until I heard a sound like rippling water. I looked upward just in time to see the door separating from the mural once more and opened on to the Chamber of the Bells. I stepped back into the Chamber of Bells and rolled my dice, rolling even, and so I went right (up on the map) to the next room.

The Winded Stair:
I stepped into yet another storm and I found myself marveling at the energy that this Labyrinth expended to maintain so many storms inside of itself. Then the spiral staircase rising into the storm caught my attention and I found myself staring at it for a few heartbeats. Seriously? Right up into the storm? I suddenly found myself feeling a bit apprehensive about the climb. I tugged on my gear, checking that it was secure before I grasped the rail on the inner column and I began my climb. I braced against each tremble and hard blow of the wind. I was thankful that there was a railing, because the steps were nearly polished to a slippery surface from the gale. My feet slipped frequently, but I held on for all I was worth, scrambling forward with each lull. I lost track of time, just doing what I could to survive until I finally reached the top. In an instant, the gale was gone and I collapsed against the wall, but surging up and moving through. I did not want to still be here when the gale came back.

I foresee that I will make time tomorrow to get more done. 🔮

"Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities... because it is the quality which guarantees all others."
Just some thoughts:
-- I just realized I have done double the number of push-ups as last year's challenge (2,570*2=5,140)! That's fraking amazing!
-- I've started to think about next month. I'll have a few carryovers (RB, 30DoY, L, 50P-U, & S), but I know I need to pick my next program. I am really feeling RPG, but I kinda think HIIT might be a good choice.
--* Pathfinder - I have done Pathfinder+, but I want the Pathfinder badge and I remember Pathfinder being a good time.
--* Carbon & Dust/Shadebound - I don't have either of these, which make them really appealing, but maybe I should do Combat HIIT to warm up to them?
--* 30 Days of HIIT/1-minute HIIT - So, I don't do a lot of HIIT work and these might be nice to just set the timer and go. I do like counting reps, but maybe it'll be nice to change it up?
So, there is an element of decision analysis paralysis starting up here.
-- Challenge wise, I am definitely taking Punch Up! and I was thinking about Abs & Core Blast. It doesn't feel too over ambitious. I also think I'll run through Calves of Steel or 1000 Calf Raises again. It's way too good for my feet to not be doing.

So, yeah. I took the day off for a not fun reason. I am not sick or anything, I just have a specific errand this afternoon. Mammogram. They want to start me early because I have a high incident of breast cancer in my maternal line. Anyway, it has me a little freaked, so M convinced me to take the day off to chill and I think he was right. I am happy I did because I got to control my narrative today instead of stewing at my desk and unable to focus.

So, I'm going to go get some lunch, then I am going to immerse myself in some appropriate music and get to writing up some nodes. They've been fermenting in my imagination and I am ready to write. And this is just another thing that I can control today.

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

The Mirror Forged:

This room chilled me through my wet clothes and I found myself shivering as I entered. Two sides of the room were stonework and had doors and the other two sides were polished silver, each facing a door wall. The wall directly in front of me at first reflected me, but then it shimmered and I stepped out of the mirror. Well, not me, but a nearly-perfect reflection of me and the difference was in the eyes. They had a hard set to them but there was no sparkle of my good humor in them. Nothing of me in those cold eyes and it chilled me more than the cold of the room.

I moved and it moved as I did, blocking my path. I feinted and so did it. I rolled through a series of movements and it copied every one. I felt like the walls were closing in and I didn't pause to see if they really were. I just moved and flowed as my mind worked it out. Every sequence I knew, it knew. It knew me, it knew my moves. Wait, so I need to move not like me. It has my measure, so I need to change it, just like with fighting.

So, I made all the mistakes. I left openings and didn't close them. I hesitated where I am normally decisive. I made calm and controlled choices when I would be rushing in to overwhelm my opponent. But it wasn't until I sat suddenly and it flew by me, that it faltered in full. I rolled forward, rising to my feet out of the roll refocusing on the mirror in time to see it shudder and the not-me get pulled back in. My reflection was once again present in the silvered wall and it nodded to me with a warmth in its eye. I felt like I had been measured and found acceptable. I sighed in relief and bowed to it, and it bowed back. I left the room feeling a bit warmer than when I entered.

The Forgotten Shrine:

The air was heavy with the oaths of a multitude and the stillness made the weight all the more apparent. In the center, there was a flame upon an alter that I suspected was magical and eternal, as I could discern no fuel source and besides, any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, so I am comfortable calling it magic. The alter itself was a rough stone, but there was a spiral inscribed in it that had been polished. It reminded me of a stalagmite that I had seen once as a young girl. It had been considered lucky to rub it and over the years of people touching it and rubbing it, it had eroded, rounded, and gleamed from being polished by people's hands. I suspected this was similar. Around the altar was an untold number of tokens and weapons, left as offerings - to the Labyrinth? On the wall, a mural of a guardian kneeling and from the art and the feel of the room, this was what we all aspired to be - a guardian, a true servant bound to their duty. This place, it tests people and a part of me felt that it was wrong somehow that I had travelled so far within before paying my respects here. But because I had travelled as much of the Labyrinth as I had, I knew now that this place wasn't a place to seek out treasures. This was a place to find your inner worth and to test your ability survive and react.

I don't remember this place from my research on the Labyrinth, but I let instinct drive me. I pulled a keychain from my bag, leaving something of myself here. I had made it a long time ago, when I was dedicating myself to learning chainmail artistry and I carried it for a long time, but this felt like the right place for it. I then bowed to the alter and I traced the spiral. But nothing happened. I took a breath and I stuck my left hand above the flame. The heat was intense and I flexed and bent my fingers before settling, but I didn't pull back as I traced the spiral once more. Once I had completed the task, three doors opened, each with a spiral staircase leading out of the room. I pulled back and my hand was cool and unharmed. I dared not think what might have happened had I pulled back without completing the task; a tale of Dune, of the gom jabbar prickling at the back of my mind. I consulted my dice and turned right and headed to my next challenge.

The Web of Shadows:

I stepped in and this room was so dark and frankly terrifying that it gave me pause. Dark, damp, dusty and sticky strings hanging from the ceiling. NO NO NO, I know what these threads are. They ware strands of webbing. NO NO NO. Terror sank in as my fear became real and a spider larger than I descended from the ceiling, the threads that I had passed through tightening around me as the spider played them like the keys of a piano. I stretched and tore and screamed at the top of my lungs as it drew nearer. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, but what must have been only moments, I broke free and I ran for the exit, not stopping until I reached the next room.

I still owe: 10, 15, 5, 4, 3 2, & 7. It's time for me to go now, but I'll try to get a few more in later. I've got to get ready to go.

I feel a bit like a super poster today, but my errand went fine and I'm healthy and I need to remember to not listen to other people so much. Their experiences will not reflect my own.

Or it could have been good juju from @graoumia. ;) :hheart:

I owe 7 node stories. I think I'll have some time tomorrow.
=================
I had delusions of being more productive this evening in my workout, but that was before I did my largest number of push-ups yet in a day, with 80 as my longest in-a-row, and before the monthly inconvenience set in. Tomorrow will likely be rough for a multitude of reasons, but I know it'll all be alright in the end. :dead:

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

September Math
30 days * 4 boxes per day = 120 boxes total
131 boxes + 10 bonus points = 141 total boxes
Goal = 80% of box total = 80% of 120 = 96 boxes :v:
Super goal = 90% of box total = 90% of 120 = 108 boxes :v:

I actually reached 117.5% of box total, so that is super awesome. Okay, TBH, bonus points for the win! I actually met goals and felt good about them. I had some rough days this month, but I feel like I handled them well and that because of my bonus point system, I didn't feel absolutely terrible on days that I just couldn't do anything. Having the mini actually let me assess how I was feeling on certain days and occasionally led to me doing a more robust workout than I might have originally. On other days, it was little more than an afterthought, but that is fully okay too.

Notes:
* Keep bonus points along the lines that they are now. It feels perfectly tuned for me.
* Squats is a hard as all get out - I think I need to lean a little more into these for my health. I would not have been able to do forward lunges without the advances I have made in squats.
* I think I need to up the quantities in the mini to 20. 10 is starting to feel easy and I do need to work in some more negative calf raises.
* On the topic of calf raises, I need to do more. I know I need these to maintain healthy feeling feet and it also helps high knees and jumping jacks.

=================

October boxes
⏹️ :rstar: Carryover item - ANY carryover item (except Pathfinder) will mark this one complete. Carryover items will be marked with a star for clarity. I can earn bonus points for doing more than one.
⏹️ :gstar: Pathfinder
⏹️ 5k steps ⏹️ 7k bonus?
⏹️ The mini - 20 each jumping jacks, squats, pushups (any kind), negative calf raises, and calf raises. Another small increase, but for a good reason - I can do it.
**0** Random workout completed at level 1 minimum - to introduce some chaos to my life and to encourage me to step out of the dredge of just doing my programs. There are so many cool workouts out there that I always want to do, but never do because I don't shiny badge. Well, they are worth doing, dang it. So, here's my reason.
**0** Completed programs & challenges

Leaving the rotation: IRONBORN - I actually like this program a lot, but I haven't been doing it justice. I just haven't been in the mood for weights. Lol, that is probably all the push-ups talking.

Entering the rotation: Punch Up!, Abs & Core Blast, & 1000 Calf Raises. 1000CR will be intended to replace the 20 calf raises in the mini, but I may fall back on the 20 if I just can't do the challenge that day. :gstar: Pathfinder. I have previously completed Pathfinder+, but I want to earn the Pathfinder badge too. It just feels right.

Staying in the rotation:
  • :rstar: Ronin's Blade r2 - Love it, will be finishing this month for certain. It's just been a lot to swing my bokken with my tired arms.
  • :rstar: 30 Days of Yoga - as previously mentioned, like-hate relationship. I will finish it this month, to be certain.
  • :rstar: The Labyrinth - This ranks highly in my list of favorite programs. I love this one so much and I am greatly amused at just how much my die has mislead me. For goodness sake, I have 6 nodes remaining, and I haven't found the key. 🤣
  • :rstar: 50 Push-ups - This can replace the 20 push-ups in the mini. My goal remains to do as many of the push-ups at full as possible.
  • :rstar: Squats r2 - This can replace the 20 squats in the mini. Hard stuff, but good stuff.
Okay, I know this looks like a lot, and honestly it is. I may delay starting Pathfinder just to finish the Labyrinth. And Abs & Core Blast to finish 50 Push-ups. But a lot of these items will be dropping off fairly quickly, so I am not too worried.

At work:
A grand total of 810 push-ups consisting of 0 full push-ups and 810 knee push-ups. I'm just going to count it towards the mini and call it good, I don't think I could hold the push-up holds right now.

Quick Warmup
20 jumping jacks
:gstar: Pathfinder 1 - saved all 5 - and my knees and thighs are feeling some kinda way today, I think it's just tiredness. Also funky right ankle on the butt kicks
1000 Calf Raises 1 - straight through
Punch Up! 1
:rstar: The Labyrinth n12 lvl 3 - modified lunges to reverse lunges & I did the last two sets as one (not on purpose initially, but I just decided to roll with it)
40 full speed butt kicks to Node 17
:rstar: Squats r2 19
Farpoint
20 negative calf raises

**0** Random workout completed at level 1 minimum ****NOTE: COOL DOWNS AND WARM UPS DON'T COUNT**** Sorry me, but no. I may not use that as an excuse to rack up a ridiculous amount of bonus points. In fact, I am amending this to combat, HIIT, or strength with weights.

I owe 8 node stories. I'm done making promises, but don't be surprised if I write some up tomorrow, early in my morning. I'll need something to do while waiting for my fasting time to be up.
=================
Don't ask me how on earth I did 810 push-ups at work, in a half day at work, no less. Work was a beatific example of everything going wrong because of people wearing rose-tinted glasses and not preparing for things properly. I filled my empty, boring time directly competing with the other top female competitor and calculating how many large steel rings I use in constructing my dice bags. The answer is 955. I drew diagrams in my notebook and everything. I also did my journal set-up and talked with so many people. Yeah, work was non-productive.

But hey, I am here, and I am good. I have so many things to be grateful for and everything is going to be alright.

@graoumia :scared: Oh no!!! Spiders are scary enough, spider ghosties sound epically scary! I can't capture them and release them back outside where I will be safe from them.

@Fremen @Anek @NightTigress Thank you! :lovelots:

Don't worry, it'll be in the last room you look. :glee:
I fully expect this to be the case, considering my route has literally taken me all over the Labyrinth. :haha:

Thursday, 2 October Wins: 346 days
Steps: 5,749/6,960

20 jumping jacks
Quick Warmup
1000 Calf Raises 2
Punch Up! 2 - okay, that was harder than I expected
:gstar: Pathfinder 2
:rstar: 50 Push-ups 23 - from my knees and those really sucked today
:rstar: Squats r2 20
20 negative calf raises
:rstar: The Labyrinth n17 lvl 2 - okay, I think I figured out what I used to do wrong on plank walk outs. The trick to protecting my back is to not let my hips drop past neutral spine in the plank. At that point, I curve my back and that is what makes it hurt. That being said, this move is still a lot and that's all I can do of it today. And I'm a little proud of myself for not putting it off.
40 full speed butt kicks to Node 18 - my right ankle started feeling a little sticky at 34, so I slowed down a little, but still kept at it.
1 up and down plank - nope, Node 18 will wait until tomorrow.
P (Adrian) - 10m Upper Body Stretch

I did productive things at home today!! I've been telling myself since the last box of china and the crystal came home from my mom's house that I need to clean up and organize the china cabinet and I actually started on it today. I found so many candles in the bottom section, so I went through them and about half of them are now going to go to my sister. Now I am going to go dust it up and get a shower while M runs out for Thai!! Mmmmm, I love Ultimate Noodle and the best part is our Thai spot can make it gluten free!! :hheart:
