This week was probably not the best time to start a new program. Yesterday was busy with work, appointments, and errands. And, sorry, when I start work at 7am I'm not dragging my tush out of bed early enough to workout before.
:deepsleep:

Tomorrow's going to be just as bad due to work obligations, so expect to see me on Friday posting another two days in one.

Makes it so much easier to keep track of progress when doing so many things. Next to everyone here at the hive, it is my daily reminder to keep moving forward and a wonderful pat on the back for continuing to move forward. 😉

Okay, this gets everything back on track and hopefully it will stay that way since next week isn't looking anywhere near as busy.

Check-In Streak: 39

Been a little too eager to log off and shut down after work this week, forgetting to check-in first.

Also, I'm feeling a bit aimless with regular programming and without clear direction, my natural state is zero. Gonna have to sort that out for next week. I did, however keep up with my challenges, for the most part. Although, I'm going to have to circle back to the Dead Hang Challenge...

Still working on what I want to do for my regular programming. I have a well-defined plan, but I can't seem to execute on it. It's too structured and boring. My ADHD-brain needs a Goldilocks plan; one with enough structure to have clear objectives and enough novelty to not be boring. I absolutely abhor boring...

Okay, so I think part of why I kept up with the Recomp plan (other than this wonderful hive) had to do with knowing what type of workout I was doing each day, but having to choose which one to do. Choosing my workout each day 1) provided novelty, 2) allowed me to work with that day's energy, and 3) was motivating in it's own way.

Even though I defined my own plan after Recomp week 6, clearly it's not enough to keep me motivated. So, here's the new plan:
  1. Loosely following the Valkyrie Plan with a minor tweaks for upper/lower splits and Monday, Wednesday, Friday working days.
  2. Working days include a Darebee workout with add-on option to work on progressions in targeted exercises (pull-up, push-up, pistol squat) and calisthenic skills.
  3. Combat or MetCon, and/or Yoga or Mobility, with jump rope option, on "off" weekdays.
  4. Back and Core Add-On Program every weekday
  5. The Valkyrie Plan has an indefinite timeline, but I know I can complete 6-weeks so I plan to work in 6-week intervals.
  6. At the end of Week 6, option to continue and see how far I actually can go or cycle off for one week before restarting.
The idea is that high-energy days will include at least one Darebee workout, plus targeted training. Whereas low-energy or overwhelmingly busy days can be one, light Darebee workout. But something happens at least every weekday.

This should be:
  1. Structured enough to have clear expectations each day.
  2. Flexible enough to accommodate time, energy, and novelty.
  3. Artificially time-limited so indefinite feels less overwhelming.
Now, hopefully writing all this out didn't trigger my brain to preemptively check it off as complete. :scared:
