Alright truth be told: I hate exercising
I really dislike it. It takes a lot of time, it's boring and at occasion painful.
But I know I need to do it, I'm already starting to feel old.

My goals
- no more backpain
- being able to sit down on the ground and get up with ease

I don't want to overdo it because then I will quit again in a couple of weeks/months

So right now I'm just doing foundations and run twice a week (which I've already been doing quite consistantly for about half a year or so)

Hello, nice thread start.

Interesting. Why would anyone do something they dislike or even despise? First, you have to start to like it, or at least see the useful outcome of it, to start loving it.

Concerning your goals, advices:
1. take painkillers
2. take chair

or do this

1.

2.

Good Luck :)

Was in a bad mood before exercising (completely unrelated to the exercise). I am now in a slightly better mood
This is what made me start enjoying exercise!

I didn't use to enjoy exercise either, I mainly saw it as a chore that needed doing to achieve some distant long-term goal. My wife was actually the one who got me to start paying attention to how I felt before and after working out, and sure enough after tracking it for a bit I realised 90% of the time I feel better after exercise. Then once I was aware of the feeling I started looking forward to it, and then eventually looking forward to exercise itself. Now I love it. Yes, there's still the occasional day here or there where I have to push myself to start but I never regret it afterwards.

Good luck :)

Because sometimes despite not liking something, one knows it is good for them. I happen to be in agreement with @Bracelet on exercise; I'm not a big fan, but there's no denying that it helped me in the past. So I do it anyway, because there is a definite advantage to exercising over not. That doesn't mean I actively want to, it's more like a thing I do because I need to.

Yes that's it. Even if I wouldn't like brushing my teeth, I would obviously still do it because I want healthy teeth.
Same goes for exercise. I don't like it but I want to be able to get up from the floor with ease

Now you’ve got me wondering too. :)
Why am I even doing all these workouts? I’m not going to fight anyone, and I’m not training for any sports competition. I’m way past the age where I’d want to impress women with my looks or intimidate men with my muscles.
Lately, tougher exercises like push-ups, pull-ups, and bicep curls aren’t just not fun, I actually do them through pain.
I have no idea… maybe it’s just stubbornness or persistence. I guess I just want to prove to myself that I’m not ready to be thrown away yet. :)

really ? :track:. I am joking. I think that age tend to show us we feel better when we exercice. I think men and women are still different because you don't have hormonal issues, but finally we all are made to move.

Hi and welcome! I think those sound like lovely goals for starting out. :)

Also, love your profile picture.

And I'm another in the "I don't really like working out" camp. ^_^;;; Though over time, I've found a few exercises that are more fun. (I believe them when they say you can't help but smile doing toe-taps.) And once you work up to it, the RPG programs are fun because of the story element. But I'm loving the effects of working out. My arms are getting visible muscles when I flex. My body is overall becoming more toned. I can regularly see my belly button now, lol. And I can carry the giant water jug up our small flight of stairs now. That is what's keeping me motivated personally.

Well, that and I seem to sleep a lot better when I get a good workout in during the day. I've heard once that you're body is gonna use energy so it's either gonna be physical or mental. And that mental can be in anxiety. So wear myself out for bed and give my brain less fuel for overthinking things. And maybe beat some people at arm wrestling. ^_^

Today was a very busy day. Did lots of chores around the house so again, Darebee is something I only did in the evening. But I started to get sick in the evening (stomach ache) and I wanted to skip doing Foundations. But I know myself, the moment I start skipping days, is when I quit again.

So while I didn't do day 6 which seemed to be quite painful with a stomach ache, I did do 3 sets of day 7 and will do day 6 tomorrow.

Did 4 sets of day 8 today, legs are burning. Also did the first day of the touch your toes challenge.

I've used Darebee before, that was the longest I've ever stuck to an exercise regime, because I can cross off challenges on my list. Seems to work just like last time

Want to add another thing to my workout routine so I will finish something every week or so. Will try to find something tomorrow. Or does anyone have any suggestions?
Any area or body part you are specifically trying to work out? For me, I added a cardio specific workout to my routine.

Thank you so much! We'll just keep going, one small step at a time.

Foundations day 20 7 sets
Touch your toes day 13.
I think because I did my exercises a lot earlier than normal, I couldn't reach as far as normally.

-Gasp- Title drop!

Hehe, I love it when they do that in media, so I couldn't help it. I'm sorry to hear you had a rough time earlier this week. I hope it's been steadily improving for you. :)
