Hey everyone!

@BlackButler ’s thread about “What songs get you motivated?” is closed, and I couldn’t find anything similar, so I’m starting a new one.

What songs give you strength? Help you stay motivated, remember your values, give you a push to act, or just calm you down? I’m not only talking about workout music (there’s already a post called “What is your favorite music to work out to”).

Feel free to share yours.

For me it depends on the goal, instrumental or ambient works better for focus while lyrical tracks help with motivation. Do you find calmer music or high energy songs more effective for staying consistent?

I would say that it depends on the moment, if we are talking about me. And the fact that I can freely pick what works for me is what builds consistency. Often, especially while walking, at the beginning I listen to something full of energy, and after a while I take the headphones off to enjoy the quietness and the flow.

"No Rain, no Flowers."
This specific song's lyrics really resonate to me and an internal battle I used to fight and to which I thought I would not win.
Now, on the other side, happy with myself, I listen to the lyrics as an hymn of self love and acceptance.

Amazing videogame, by the way (the predecesor is also amazing, and both have great OST and nice life messages).

It reminds me of the quote "I am simultaneously in the softest and most ruthless era I've ever been in".
