Greetings and welcome.
Where are you on your fitness journey? Are you currently doing any particular exercise or have you done anything in the past? If it's been a while, you might like to start with a program such as Foundation.
If, however, you're up to something a little more challenging, but not overly taxing, given you have dumbbells and an elliptical, you might like to try a programme such as Pathfinder+ Things aren't written in stone here, and if you wanted to use the elliptical on days when a run is suggested, you are quite free to substitute that.
Bear in mind that losing weight is highly dependent on your diet. Strength training is great and highly recommended, but that alone will not really help you lose much weight. There are some Guides you might like to read, such as this one.
If you have any other questions, ask them. Someone here will always be willing to help.

Thank you for the quick response. I looked at the two you suggested and think something a bit more challenging. I have done Bodi (645) in the past and looking for a change. I did find iron heart, iron born, and power builder which may help. Agree on the diet

@James Campbell I think this is entirely your own choice. A lot of barbell exercise can be performed using dumbells (shoulder and chest presses, RDLs for example). I don't use a gym so for me my preference is for using dumbbells because that's easier in a smaller space, and also I feel there are more exercises I can do using dumbbells. If I'm feeling expansive, though, and want something different, I'll break out the barbell. Personally, I don't think it makes a great difference which you use or how you split your usage.
