So...time to start again, I guess. What could be a better day, than January 1st.

I had pretty big thread before, but it was deleted when there were technical difficulties, so now I want to start again.
Where do we start:
I’m 34. Last year, I underwent a thyroidectomy in two stages because of a thyroid cancer diagnosis. Initially, the surgeon said, "We’ll remove one half, and you’ll live with the other." But then he followed up with, "The biopsy results are in; it’s malignant. We need to go back in for another surgery."
Now I’m on thyroxine, but the dosage is too low. My endocrinologist told me, "Before we get you to a proper dose, we need to do a radioactive iodine scan first."
So, for the rest of January, I’m stuck with hypothyroidism and a low-iodine diet, feeling pretty miserable. I’m going to stick with the Foundation Light program for now and see how it goes.
Foundation Light Day 1, Level 3 — done! :)

Now, regarding the sun: I appreciate how changing locations helps alleviate seasonal blues and boosts well-being . From first pic into second in 4 years

Foundation Light Day 3 lvl 2 - check.

Currently my body has lower capacity to metabolize caffeine. It just doesn't work properly. So I thought: "And what for?"

So I'll cancel all caffeine until the end of the diet. Yes, I'll be angry, but at the end I'll have a perfect meal:

-Biggest burger from argentine version of McDonald's (Mostaza. They have better meat, than McDonald's, by a mile better)

-Alfajor (argentine cookie. Mine will be with white chocolate and raspberry jam).

-Big black coffee from Starbucks. The strongest one.

You know, some people turn to faith in God during their hardest moments. My situation makes me turn to faith in burger (and it will work, I hope)

Foundation Light Day 5 lvl 1 - check.
Decided to chill a bit with caffeine withdrawal and drink some yerba mate (because it's one of the things that I can consume whatever amount I want with this diet).
Felt better. Well, what's to call better...More or less ok, let's call it like that. I've got to use everything that can help me right now, we'll decide with discipline later, when I'll have my thyroxine

Foundation Light Day 7 lvl 1 - check.

Today it was hard. Despite caffeine it already goes into pretty much automatic mode: enough energy to do necessary things like work, but other than that - absolute zero.

On January 9th I take tests that are necessary, then the actual iodine scan happens sometime next week. This stuff will be finished in 10-14 days, so I gotta hold on

It's not that I felt better today...it's total "Improvise. Adapt. Overcome". Instead of thinking how awful it feels, I thought: "Heck it. I want to grill some meat with bread and add cucumber + tomato" (it's not forbidden by the rules of all this situation).
Also HOW HARD it is already to separate English from Spanish in my thought process, wow! And none of them are my native languages, lol

Ok back to English, if you don't mind me asking what's your native language? Also I'm very sorry to hear about your diagnosis, I hope your energy levels get better!

Hola! Gracias :ss:
It is Russian. Because of it my thought process often looks like "Ok, so what do I have to do today? Necesito limpiar la mesa, ещё в магазин сходить за колбасой, also I have a lesson hoy, dale". And sometimes a word in German appears here and there, because I knew quite a bit of German hace 10 años. I'm not joking, it was easier for me to remember "hace 10 años" and not "10 years ago"

jaja that's so cool! I also mix English and Spanish all the time, I can't imagine having a third language in the mix! At least us hispanohablantes here can understand your Spanglish :)

Foundation Light Day 12 lvl 1 - check.
Tomorrow I will go to the clinic in person to get an appointment date, because I got no answer in WhatsApp chat.
So the most important value for this procedure is thyroid-stimulating hormone. It has to be more than 30 so they could proceed with everything.
Today I got newest blood test results, and I have 83,56.
It will be good enough for them, I guess.

Foundation Light Day 13 lvl 1 - check.
So now I have the actual timeline.
The most important things:
1. January 23rd: I can start normal diet and thyroxine
2. January 29th: I can start living normal life :) if no more bad stuff will be found.

So from now on changing status from "Miserable swamp" to "10 days of heavy grind".
Because it's very much possible that I will feel worse

But anyway, moving on.

Oh the amount of Amen in this!
In each salt crystal on these French fries - smiles of the Saints;
In each molecule of this bacon - pounding heart of a promising future;
In each sip of this vanilla latte - freedom to be a Human in the eyes of the Lord!

Yes, it was like that, really

Foundation Light Day 26 lvl 1 - check

Feels like all internal engines start working like they were supposed to from the beginning, like it was when the thyroxine dose was leveled up from 100 to 150

But because of empty fuel tanks due to awful beginning of the year the headaches now are just....buenissimo :tuzki-love:

Did a full-body scan today (as I was supposed to, with all this radioactive iodine stuff).
What an experience:
-I had to arrive without breakfast, by 8 am, wait till 8:40 or so. Then I had to lay still for almost an hour or so inside of this machine, and I had to keep my muscles tense so doctors could scan what they need to scan properly. So it was like a low intensity version of a plank. For almost an hour. I had no sugar in my blood already, so when they finished it felt like this:
So next week they will have to scan the area where the thyroid gland was, because radioactive iodine still has job to do. Ok
