Hi Bees!
I can't find the any tread just about tea, that's why I dare to open a new one. Is there any tea drinker here? What's your favourite tea? or, it it's difficult to pick up the fav, what kinds of tea do you drink?

Personally, I'm the one, who doesn't have the one and only favourite tea. There are however some, that I always buy. I like tasting something new, adding some dried berries or spices to the tea. I'm not crazy about black tea (it makes me feel sick if I drink it without sugar) but I'm up for green and white tea, as well as for pu-erh and all kinds of herbal teas (chamomile, tilia, white mulberry, field horsetail, nettle...).
I drink my tea without sugar nor milk.

What about you?

I like black tea- regular earl gray, smoky ones like oolong... I like green tea but avoid it (vitamin K, which doesn't play nice with a drug I'm taking). I adore soba-chai, grilled buckwheat tea .
In herbal teas, I really like the peppermint - licorice family, besides, alongside fennel seed, it's good for the tummy, just gotta watch out for not overdoing licorice. Turmeric is nice too.

I have changed my tea tastes quite a bit, going from green and white teas to almost exclusively black tea, Assam, Darjeeling and Kenya are my favorites at the moment.
I drink tea without sugar, milk or lemon, I got there gradually, now I've been used to it this way for years.
I like to experiment with new flavours, I buy tea from a specialised website and there is always something new to try.
I'm not too picky or purist, so I don't buy exclusively single origin teas and in fact I'm waiting for a large shipment of Irish blends to arrive :)
I'm glad there are other fans of the elixir of long life here. :coffee: (Yes I love drinking generous amounts of tea in mugs).

I was used to drink black tea, but now i prefer green and white tea, rooibos and herbal teas. I love jasmin tea, genmaicha, and flavored teas. We have a rooisbos flavored with coca and vanilla which is amazing, as well as vanilla white tea :teatime:. I usually prep a big amount in one time. And i don't use any sugar or milk, but sometimes a bit of lemon. In limoncha it is great (it is a genmaicha tea flavored with Lemon)

I have three. Spearmint, peppermint and genmaicha, which is an everyday Japanese tea which is a mix of roasted popped brown rice and green tea leaves. If you like green tea and haven't tried genmaicha yet then I recommend checking it out.
:)
Thank you, I definitely need to try it:teatime:

I really like fennel seed tea, always buy it when I'm visiting my parents. Soba-chai is another one I'd like to try (I love buckwheat).
It looks like I should check where there is a good Asian market near me.

Mugs definitely rules, the bigger the better. Sometimes, if I need something different, I make the tea in a big tea pot and then indeed drink from a tiny teacup.

Rooibos, of course. I like it especially in summer, it's so sunny tea (if I can call it this way).

@Jaga , I am lucky as buckwheat is quite common in Bretagne (French Brittany), and where my parents live, there's this cook that also lots of asian influences (think his wife is Japanese), and he sells soba noodles, all sort of buckwheat chips or cookies and noodles (happiness for gluten-intolerent people like me!), and soba chai

I uses to drink a lot of black tea, normally with a spoonful of honey (or two or three) and a nice swig of good rum. But that was before they started adding bergamot into basically all black teas. Especially in cheap teas, that stuff is just overwhelming everything else. If I wanted to drink hot lemonade, I wouldn´t make me a tea, right?
Now I´m into red/fruit teas. No more reason to put honey in it (although I still do sometimes, especially when I´m ill) and you can´t really put rum in there, so that´s helpful. I usually just pick up any kind of Swedish Blueberry flavor that´s cheap, so usually discounter house brands or sometimes when I´m really lucky there´s a decent brand tea on sale, then I grab a few boxes of that.

I mostly drink roobois blends - vanilla, chocolate truffle, blueberry, and peach are my favorites. I occasionally partake in some chai, as chai lattes are a nostalgic drink for studying and taking finals. And I do enjoy some green tea.

:drink:mmm, now I really want some tea!

It depends on the season for me.

Autumn you can't go wrong with an Apple Cinnamon or Pumpkin Spice (particularly the Tim Horton's version)

Winter I tend to go more Earl Grey, or a special holiday blend

Spring and Summer I'll go more black tea like regular orange pekoe or Ceylon, especially since they're also really nice as an iced version.

Tea reminds me of my Gramma who always had a pot on. When I'd go to visit, we'd sit at her kitchen table and chat about life over tea and a cookie, then move to the living room to continue chatting while knitting together. :lovely:

There used to be a place at my local mall called "Teavana"--it was owned by Starbucks and they sell some of the tea still in their stores... but there was one tea I used to get there all the time. It was iced and the flavors were "Blue Berry Bliss" and "Pineapple Kona Pop". It was also delish hot.

"If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water."
Mostly I drink iced green tea, but I mix up the flavors: one green tea bag + one herbal tea bag + 2 quarts of water, and let steep in the fridge for 2 hours to 2 days. I don't really like plain water, so this is what I put in my water bottle every day. The herbal tea is whatever sounds good that day: peach, mint, hibiscus blends, berry blends, lemon, orange...the list goes on. I'm fond of the Celestial Seasonings brand of herbal teas for this - they may not be A+ quality, but I like how they taste, and they're affordable enough for everyday.

I drink hot tea (again, mostly herbal blends) when I'm feeling down, sometime with a spoonful of honey.

Black tea has too much caffeine for me, but when I can find a decaf Earl Grey or chai, I'll grab it. My favorite is Irish Breakfast tea with just a splash of milk.

My go-tos are typically vanilla caramel black tea and honey vanilla chamomile. Though I've had this strawberry macha that's pretty good with a little bit of cream in it. <3

I also got a coworker hooked on chia, so I may end up drinking more of that, haha.

@NightWolf714 I never heard about chia tea, what is this?

Chai tea (misspelled it up there) is a spiced tea. It's technically called masala chai (as chai means tea). It's a black tea that has cinnamon, cardamon, ginger, and other things in it. Though I think the exact ingredients can vary a bit. It's often made as a latte so lots of heated milk and sweeten in it. <3

OH! And Thai tea is good too. It's a ... black tea, I believe? Mixed with sweetened condensed milk. <3

OoOo, the golden milk sounds like it'd be a pretty interesting drink!

I like a lot of different kinds. Some of my favorites are oolongs, puerh, and green tea. There's always water in the electric kettle and I enjoy loose leaf, pouring from a gaiwan.

There's an independant tea store near me and they sell a wide variety of loose leaf tea. Before the pandemic, they'd offer a sample tray so you can try different kinds of teas for the price of a to-go cup. I found a lot of new favorites that way.

It's my favorite way of serving tea if it's just me. Takes a bit of practice not to spill. I filled the gaiwan with water and practiced over the sink until I got the hang of it. I love that you can steep for a lot less time. With friends over, I pull out the pot.
Thanks for the explanations

I generally enjoy black teas the most. I like the consistency and earthiness. I also think they pair best with cinnamon, vanilla, and honey—my favorite ingredients. Especially when mixed with milk. :tuzki-hug:

I mostly drink flavored black tea. My favorite tea is Hot Cinnamon Spice tea. It has a nice cinnamon flavor which is enhanced with just one teaspoon of sugar. It also smells very good. My sister introduced me to this tea years ago and everyone that I've told about it loves it to. I use tea bags, tea sachets and loose tea. I also drink it in decaf. My daughter has a green tea version of it that tastes really good iced!

Chinese teas: Oolong (semi-oxidized aka dark green tea) & Lapsang Souchong (smoked black tea).
Japanese teas: I like the Kukicha or Karigane the most, the twigs in it give a real nice taste. Will also enjoy all kind of green Japanese teas like Matcha, Sencha or Gyokuro.
Indian / British: Earl Grey, English Breakfast (or stronger Irish and Scottish versions), Darjeeling.
Others : green tea with citrus or peppermint aroma, sometimes spicy tea with cinnamon, ginger and other stuff.
And of course no milk or sugar in the tea, unless it's the spicy tea then I may add milk and honey.

Thought it would be fun to share. I drink black tea. I grew up on it my mother made tea instead of koolaid. Later in life she realized I was running on caffeine.
I boil water pour it into 96 ounce pitcher with 3/4 cup of sugar. Steep with 4 tea bags. Once it's nice and black I add ice to cool it down. It makes about 96 ounces and I drink the whole thing every day. I tried iced green tea and other stuff but it just isn't strong enough for me since I have drank black tea my entire life.
Side Note: My mother used 8-10 tea bags when I was a kid, LOL it was black black black and she boiled it for a long time! Haha.

Hello fellow Tea Bees! I am a loose leaf lady myself and my favourites are as follows:

Black tea: I currently have a lovely Assam that's wonderful in the mornings, a gentle but firm wake up mug.
Green tea: China Gunpowder with So Much fresh Mint and a bit of sugar to make Morrocan Green Tea, or the delicate Jasmine Dragon Pearls, I really can't chose.
White tea: I have a Vietnamese loose leaf that I like to mix with rose petals.

Infusions: rooibos with clove and cinnamon is my go to for cozy vibes. Lemon balm and ginger are a godsend for sore throats, with a generous dollop of honey, it's what's in my thermos everyday. And of course, for dire sick days, I would like to share the Jesus Tea recipe of tumblr fame: rooibos, camomile, cloves, nutmeg and pepper, plus lemon juice, apple cider and honey.

Can someone from the United States recommend an electric teapot? Preferably one with different temperature settings that doesn’t cost an arm and leg.
I used to drink a lot of tea and then stopped for some reason. I would like to resurrect my tea habit.
I can't i am not in the us, and now i use a non electric kettle, it is more convenient that i was imagining
