AM- Awake at 7am (PST) after nearly 9 hours of sleep🛌💤; the last couple hours were neither solid nor sound, however…
Outside is mostly sunny, frozen, 25 (F) degrees feels like 19🌞🧊🥶… this depth of cold makes my old eyes water when the air hits them😭

Lawyer told husb yesterday that even tho she is demented, she retains the right to consent as to where she wants to live and how much help she receives. The only way around this is if she breaks the law, police are called, or she physically breaks, so that a physician says she cannot go back to her home. There was more, but this was enough to be disturbing. So…. my job now is to detach myself from my husb’s *business* with regard to this, so that I can stop wringing my hands about when the next shoe will drop.😵‍💫And don’t get me started about the other shoe of the incoming administration on Monday😖

I'm so sorry, @DorothyMH . I ran into this issue multiple times with my father refusing medical help that he needed. And sure: it's the person who's ill who suffers physically for refusing the help. But it's the people around them who suffer mentally and emotionally and end up sacrificing boatloads of time in their efforts to try to avert disasters. I'm wishing for your family continued strength, and for you, yeah: some success in finding detachment. Because you cannot change your MIL or the law.

Thank you; I know you know whereof you speak (write) on both topics. It helps to vent….😕. I have one elderly friend who has continually advised me to “make my husb promise to bring her this time….” Well, hells bells, I can’t make him do anything of the sort, and it’s crazy to think I could. Besides, he lives his ethical code as a (retired) physician and son of a lawyer would: strictly legal. And, my step mom does the same harassing: “trick her or drug her,” she says. Nope, nope and nope. Oof😤

Yesterday, I did have some reprieve from the anxiety with an hour + of quilting, along with an extended workout to catch up on my DareBee program and challenge. AM- awakened at 6am (PST) by a big black doggo slithering up onto the bed and wedging himself in between me and husb😵‍💫😤. I had to convince him it was too tight, he was a cover hog, and that I still wanted to sleep, so he would move to his own bed. But, I was hopelessly awake, so just got up at 6:45am. At least that was close to 9 hours of horizontal time🛌💤🙄

😱***My daughter’s 40th Birthday***🤯

I can’t believe I am old enough to have a 40 yo kid!🫣

AM- awake at 6:50am (PST) after 9 hours of horizontal time and about 8ish hours of fair sleep. Our room is insulated really well, and I have a heavy comforter on the bed, so it felt too warm to get comfy to sleep. So, I spent an hour being still and meditative before feeling calm and cool enough to drift off….🛌🥱

AM- awake at 6:30am (PST) after 8+ hours of sleep.🛌💤. We did a sleep meditation last night, and just as I was drifting off, husb had to get up. I hear this morning that he was up for 4 hours, trying to get his heart to flip back into a normal rhythm from an atrial fib episode. Four hours. Ugh….😰

AM-awake at 7:15am (PST) following a crummy night’s sleep. I had had a tiny bit of chocolate in my edible (brownie) after dinner, and it amped me up: wide awake and mind busy. However, I remained in bed with my eyes closed “enjoying the ride…..”🙄💨. But it amounted to way less than 8 hours of actual sleep.😩💤

Thanks, Laura. I’m not usually the one in my house with the trouble sleeping. But, lately, it seems to have returned. I’ve been thinking of *all my dead* family members in the last couple weeks. Coming up on the 11th death-versary of my dad, with whom I had some issues for much of my life: we were on opposite socio-political sides. I feel better about him since he died, interestingly….but my mother in law’s dementia just gives me fits of anxiety, unlike any of my dead ever did.. I’ll sleep eventually😜 I take immense solice in the fact that NAPS are usually possible😂

AM- awake at 7ish (PST), after a night of active “sleep,” for 9 hours. I had a bit of chocolate in my edible last night. Since I am not using that form regularly, the chocolate is too stimulating. I should that know by now🫣Consequently, my night was restless, full of waking dreams and hearing every little noise in the house.…oh well🥱🤷🏼That’s what naps are for, I think🤪😤
