It all went to hell the moment the computer broke. I've been trying to edit this thing, and I don't know if I can make it... I always believe that I'm cursed somehow, but I don't know. It always breaks on me whenever I try too hard.

Week 6 (6th week of the year) Goals:

JUST FINISH THAT DAMNED NOVEL AND SEND IT! LITERALLY IT'S THE LAST WEEK!

Editing on the phone is hard, and it is taking quite a long time. Hence I'm not posting. It's like I'm writing in a teeny tiny typewriter when I put it flat on a table, which makes it go faster, but my fingers, although yes, no hands dysphoria because they look feminine, they are still big enough to make a lot of mistypes.

Still, I think I have a cool setup at this moment. I'm beside the paperweight that is laptop right now, I have my old phone in front of me playing the Bloodlines soundtrack, and I'm typing this away with my BuJo on the side.

Two people ghosted us, so no D&D on the weekend.

Well then, I haven't updated in a while. Uh, yesterday I finished editing my nanonovel and sent it off for publishing. It'll release tomorrow, so I did it on time! Right now I'm pretty much getting up to date with the things I've sacrificed, including this. A computer is most needed, because editing on the phone is painful! Literally, I had some neck problems. I don't have an OTG adapter that's USB-C; otherwise I would have plugged in my keyboard and stuff would've been much easier. All I say is I miss my spreadsheets, but working on constraints, with a bare minimum, and a typewriter that's too tiny is... making me feel like I'm in the early 30s, fishing pennies off the couch to get some bread.

Now, because I haven't done anything new, the days are pretty much the same. But I edited a nanonovel, and now it's time to reorganize my head. If I get to 500K by the end of the year, at least I'll have 5% of words published with a 24.4K release. Again, I need my spreadsheets.

Story got published. It's not performing as good as I thought it'd do, but I don't care. I edited it on my phone, and that's something I need no validation from anyone.

It's a new day now.

A lot of things unorganized on my plate right now, so I'll go for them today. No D&D, thus I'm posting.

I was understimulated for the whole week. I cancelled everything because I couldn't handle the pressure. I actually feel more in need to update my BuJo, to make an improvement upon it.

Not having my computer certainly destroyed my momentum. I can't do anything right!

Week 9 (9th week of the year) Goals:
  • Make some mods on the BuJo

A quick update here: the computer is still broken, but I finally got the money to repair it. The problem is that I haven't gotten my hands around it because I need to find someone or someplace reputable, and very recently I found one, but I haven't been able to go there.

Last week I got another oral yeast infection, but it's almost clear at this point.

I've been dropping out of workouts because doomscrolling is a real thing, and I've been just... stressed. Stressed is what it has been the past two months. Nevertheless, whatever challenges I was doing, I've claimed the badges.

I dropped the ball on two writing challenges because writing on the phone is killing my eyes on one hand, and it has been turning more and more difficult on the other. So it's only poetry as of now, and I broke the 1K mark, but I'm counting manually. I'm drawing again, but uh...

I'll be honest: life just happened, and the Jenga tower crashed on the last weekend. My aunt had a fall, she broke her hip, and we've been on panic mode because we didn't know how was she really. Scared, but the scary part ended yesterday morning. Two traumatologists saw her, she'll recover, both said she needs surgery, but not even one of the doctors can afford to get that same surgery themselves. Either surgery or wait for natural recovery, and a physiatrist told my mom it's better for her to rest instead of go under the knife because she's 86 years old; a surgery at that age has way too many risks. Plus, one of her sisters said it'll be more expensive than the price of surgery. It isn't free, really, because if we go private, we have to pay, and if we go public, we have to buy the shopping list of everything needed for the surgery. Then there's the recovery; price of crutches and stuff...

We're not really good. And while it is terrible that this happened, we kinda knew it would happen anytime soon. The problem is not my aunt breaking her hip, being bedridden, and even more oblivious than she is, no, it's that there is a vulture around us.

The same story that happened with grandpa is threatening to happen again. She's not even dead, yet someone from her past called to have a claim on the property, and even claimed there were witness to that. Thing is my mom knows they're barking at the wrong tree. Not only did they show their true colors, they also had no idea that this deal with the property she owns was already fixed almost a decade ago, and my aunt was sane of mind when it happened, she was well on her head, and able, actually, she started to really lose it a few years after. Now they could start spreading rumors that we manipulated her into things, and even intimidate us, but an uncle put us with a lawyer so if anything happens, we might get a restraining order, so there's a legal issue here, and one drama I seriously don't want to see it happen, because it already pissed me off that my grandpa got scammed by his youngest daughter, I don't want someone now extorting us out of a house when my aunt is still breathing.

The plus side of this situation is that the Feng Shui of the house changed a lot. Not only in the sense of furniture arrangement since we got to free a room for my aunt, but things look just better, and it feels like the wind circulates more, and we're getting rid of things too. It's like the qi was stagnant, and all it needed is for one person to get sick in order for it to start flowing again, which might I add is a twisted way of wording it. Aside from that yesterday morning I also found a new lesson learned, and I'm still crying after that. When I saw my aunt in the morning, I finally sensed that I forgave her because the pain she put me through... it's not as bad as the pain she's going through right now. Honestly, if someone has to die, they are entitled to die standing up instead of being a body with no spirit.

She might not recognize me, and that's alright, I don't want her to recognize me. But all I can say is that she's truly a ghost. She's just a living body, but what made her... her, as a person, has been gone for a long time...

So this is my life now. There is a fire around it, and the only thing I can do is letting it burn instead of putting down the flames.

I forgave her. I forgave my abuser, something I didn't think I could do.

She died, Hive. She died two days ago, and I was... pretty much right there when it happened. It's a very strange thing, you know... I forgave her long before she became bedridden, that's why I couldn't really process it to see her bedridden, and now she's gone. In less than 24 hours she was cremated, which is something that I'm actually impressed, it happened all so fast... One night the firefighters were taking her vitals before the coroner came to do the report and as soon as they found she was gone, they let the scene be undisturbed and guided us through it. All neighbors came. My family came...

Yesterday was the wake and the cremation. It was really short; she didn't want to have a wake. But the thing is that I've changed. I've changed in such a way that I don't recognize myself from the past.

I forgave her, and that alone feels like I did something illegal, like the world is telling me I should hold a grudge. Instead I chose forgiveness.

Caring for an abuser changes you in many ways than one. I don't even know what to say anymore.

Life goes on. Her passing only says it's all scorched earth from here on. The silence in the house is peaceful, and everything feels like there's finally a place for new things to grow.

Not even half the year and so many things have already happened...

I fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow last night. I was pretty sleep deprived yesterday. Caffeinated, ate poorly, and so shocked I had a hard time paying attention. And today I'm stumbling on my speech, and my mind is not still here.

At least she died peacefully.

If it's ok to ask... how are you feeling? Make sure you look after yourself and rest. It seems like you have gone through a lot. I cannot imagine.

Sending you a big hug. It is not always easy to forgive, but it can be immensely rewarding.

SCORCHED EARTH

First of all, I got the computer fixed last week. It took me this long to come back because I had to clear up the demons around me. Everything burned so quickly the moment my aunt broke her hip. Things got blown out of proportions the day she died, and I was putting out so many fires, and a message I've gotten only clicked the night her body was cremated. I was already removing things, one by one, like quitting things that while begun as good, became only evermore stressful, my phone being a huge distractor it killed my writing, and everything that I've had moving made me crazy, and... it all got burned to cinders.

I'm beginning anew. I cleared up my log, so I'm starting all over. I'm not sharing my writing progress because it died. The shock was so bad I actually forgot what day of the week was many times, but at least I'm better right now. Experiences like this change you, that much I learned. And my whole worldview shifted. I'm currently doing different things, and I decided to do what my ADHD hates: take things slow. The moment I admitted to have feelings for someone who's caught in a web of intrigue to seduce, and the moment I stopped caring for any drama around it and just enjoy the journey was the moment I knew I have to take things slow. If this confused squirrel is saying that the world is going way too fast for me to catch up, then the problem is not my ADHD.

So today I committed to work out again. Today I committed to pick my writing back up from where it was. Yesterday was the cleanup. There's just a lot of debris everywhere in my mind, so now that I've cleared a tiny square to do stuff, I can focus on it and slowly clear up the rest. Again, everything will move slowly. Slow. S-L-O-W. SLOW. I need to remind myself of that, to go slow, because the way I'm noticing it now, slowness is being rewarded much better than quickness. For sure, I can write extremely fast, but taking one project at a time is better. Take things one step at a time is better. Hell, I managed to clean more by just cleaning one square meter daily instead of doing the whole room, and I feel like I am building up something.

Also, regarding wooing this girl? Yeah, I just found a way to move my transition forward. Honestly, it was unexpected, but when I saw the three things that I want for this year, one particular thing I wrote after reading the I Ching of one of the goals, and I think it counts for the rest: none of this will look the way I envision it, and it might actually be drastically different than I thought. How else I would've ended up giving art lessons, out of all the things? I was not expecting that, but that opportunity is what got my computer fixed. It ended up being a cheaper repair than I thought because the other repairs would take longer, so I decided to get it at least running, and it is running.

The problem of going slow while having ADHD is how much I'm wired for wanting things right now. One big lesson today was that forgiveness is yielding better results than self-punishment. I am slowly getting out of the rut that my phone left me when I didn't have my computer, and I took some more steps forward. Hey, at least I'm recovering, and I'm doing my best to have patience with myself and with the process.

On the other hand, I noticed how the old wounds from the love triangle I walked in are fully healed. I went back there today and noticed it didn't hurt anymore. Instead I developed admiration on both women, and a feeling I didn't expect: gratitude. I can't hate them; I can't hate my ex, I can't hate the other girl. No grief upon the loss because there's nothing left for grief. One is now my past, the other one is my northern star, and I already made the decision months back to never pursue that and leave it as such. I won't deny how much it hurts, but the only thing I can do is trust the process.

So I'm living today's hexagram. Decided to share my daily I Ching readings now. The third line being a changing line warned me that it was going to be hard, and it was. Like I said, I'm breaking old habits, but the fifth line promised gold, and I guess I found it. Not new information I know, but closure.

This was a long stage in my life, and now I want to know what's next. But I suppose first I need to return to normal. Slowly getting there. There's still time.

Oops!

I forgot to post, and quite frankly I didn't have time to work out yesterday, so the clock got reset. The whole day was a mess, honestly, and quite frankly I would've preferred to skip yesterday and use that time better if I knew it was going to be a waste, but well... it wasn't the worst of all. I started a birthday calendar; something I should've done many, many, many, oh so many years ago... And today was just more class, me seeing that I'm actually learning TCM and putting it in practice, and even learning how to prevent the gallbladder sludge from last year from returning.

I still wonder what would've happened if it was a marriage. Never thought a relationship like that would've put me to bed for two months. Then again, combined with the events of 2024, and all of that... it was a recipe for disaster; no wonder I lost a lot of weight!

But yeah, the weekend was not exactly ideal, but hey... It's what I had, and I made a small step forward, which is what's important.

Well, it was a bad day. None of the usual ADHD advice worked for this novella I'm facing off right now, not even turning it all to the smallest step. I was working on it, but suddenly stopped. Thankfully before I went to sleep I knew why that was the case, or at least partially: I ate nothing but carbs.

But hey, at least I got everything that was inside my head out, so my mind is a bit more clear. Having 26 ideas jumping around like little gremlins is not fun... I'm still working in a way to make the shiny new object syndrome isn't dealt with traditionally, but rather used to push me forward in my projects instead of being a distraction.

Interesting thing to learn today: the changing lines can yield you another hexagram. Today was Heaven over Mountain, the image of Retreat, but with the bottom and fifth being changing lines, it becomes #30 Li, Fire over Fire, Clarity. And I retreated alright. I wrote, it's just that I wrote the wrong thing. Worldbuilding for D&D. Just establishing some ideas.

A long day, but I reduced the number of hours scrolling. That's good, now I must keep going

Holding Together changed into Retreat.

I spent the day outlining my WIP for as long as I could, and suddenly felt comfortable enough to begin writing, even though it's not fully there... but I think that's the best way. It's what I do, really. The problem with that WIP is that I had everything set up, except one tiny little thing: there was no plot. Literally, no plot. It was just a bunch of ideas and things and stuff connected to each other, but none of that made a cohesive story.

I kinda sacrificed the day for it, so no House of the Valkyrie. Managed to scroll less.

I did practice a little of a skill only to realize I'm actually so much better at it than I thought. It's just that I never had the actual chance to exploit it properly. It actually made me realize that I feel far much more secure when I'm presenting female than presenting male. There's... less of a mask...

Started the project... only to realize 25K is not enough, and I need 75K. My vision expanded.

Thankfully I had a fallback. I'll switch to that, and keep it tight. I just didn't expect my vision to expand, but it is what it is...

I couldn't focus really... But whatever. I started to move forward. I started to put words, so that's getting the ball rolling.

It was an interesting day that connected me back to my roots. And I mean deep roots, like roots that got forgotten after so many centuries. It's a Sephardic name, and the bloodline converted to Christianity someplace when Jews were forced to convert. Whether there were Marranos there or not remains to be seen, and we may never know, but ever since I learned that I've been wanting to see how do I begin rescuing those links. It might have been centuries, and I have absolutely no idea, but I mean, I ought to try, if anything because I think it's completely irresponsible to not rescue roots that got lost because people were forced to convert many years ago. It's the same as people nowdays speaking dead languages like Latin on a daily basis...

So I held the Shabbat. It came completely out of the blue. I did not think about my manuscript today, and focused on things that brought more joy and, oddly enough, spent more time with my family even though I'm currently on my own for now? I talked with my dad about the family name, that I found a Coat of Arms, and someone even recreated it adding my own personal motto to it just by me describing the heraldry. It was quite an accurate depiction too, but the motto flattered me a lot. Dad loved it.

Expected, yet frustrating. Too many things changed. I managed to prepare a D&D at the last minute because a last minute cancelation from yesterday got retracted, but then, right when I was dressing up and about to leave, ANOTHER PLAYER CANCELLED! So many changes! Things went from nope to yay back to nope and back to yay; it was quite frustrating.

Even more frustrating is to know that the reading was a warning, that I can put change, but it can't be done today. So I was an observant, and yes, the status quo for one of my goals shifted entirely. I played it defensively, but now I must play on the offensive. The energy shifted drastically. The problem is that I don't know what to do now.

At least I'll be looking for advice tomorrow.

This was... a very long and dense day. On one hand the reading mutated from Progress to Stagnation, but it wasn't a bad thing, it just meant that I stopped going over the abstract and give way into the concrete. To move away from the realm of ideas and go into the realm of actionable strategies. On the other hand... there was just a lot of information to process, and my brain was too tired by the end of the day.

Worth it though. I've never had such an incredible day so far this year. I learned a lot and gained new strategies too. Two questions I had regarding my ADHD got resolved, and things appear to be going pretty peachy.

Changed into 3 - Chun / Difficulty at the Beginning

Skipped Qi Gong. Spent my day journaling to figure out the common thread all over my goals, and just got it. I'm also quite nervous now that Sunday is approaching.

It's been extensively cold the last couple of days, enough to just put me into a rut of lazyness that I just couldn't escape... At least I managed to move...

Changed into 34 - Ta Chuang / The Power of the Great

The day got warmer. I didn't get to do much, but I did organize myself better, and decided to kill everything I originally planned because it was too much. I even put all the things I want to do in my whiteboard to organize them by category and have a better structure, but then again it's the shabat. In any case I seeked some guidance, and well, I have everything. I'm just afraid to move.

No changing lines.

It's a shame it was the Shabbat, but at the same time it was a bit of a relief because I couldn't write for sh*t. I did one drawing at least. Sad thing is that I lost a collection of books that not only I need right now, but they were very important to me, like I had an emotional attachment to them. Rare books, even. And got nothing in exchange for them. These are books I'll never see again in my life. Lesson learned: every book that I care about must remain within my vigilance, otherwise it'll be given away or discarded without my consent.

Anger overwhelmed me, so I couldn't think straight by the end of the day.

No changing lines.

This was, without a doubt, the day where I felt my fear of performance the biggest. I've played for hundreds of people. This was like fifty times worse than that, and it was something stupid in comparison. When I rolled that Hexagram, I was even more afraid. Should I even forfeit? No, I was actually overthinking my strategy, and I ditched one thing that was useless, and decided to flow.

Then, right after D&D, it had to happen. I was about to chicken out, but I trapped myself before I could. This is the first time I was actually terrified of this, because I've never had this happen to me like this. If anything, this fear is normal, but it was even bigger this time. Even mid-performance, I was so terrified my consciousness pretty much shut down, yet I flowed in spite of the nerves, and...

Honestly, I came home not feeling my legs. I wanted to cry, but it wasn't of fear this time. I wanted to cry of joy.

I hate the slow-burn because of this. But I did it. I ignited a new spark, and there could be a new romance coming in my life. And the stakes are big this time. I feel like I finally unlocked a power I was given a long time ago.

I didn't trust myself, because I knew I would chicken out. I trusted fate instead, and let go. Perhaps the most powerful lesson I learned yesterday. Call it the Weave, the Tao, Fate, the Providence, whatever... but that's what I trusted instead of me. I burned the boats and started this anyway. I don't know if this is going to kill me, but better to die trying than live thinking about what could've been.
