Indeed @AgileGrrl ! And by doing it knee pushup style I can start now instead of waiting for the foot to heal completely (and possibly hurting myself again by being impatient).

I'm staying at my parents for a few days, which has almost immediatly shot my Going To Bed On Time streak to shambles
But the good news is that my toe seems to be fine again! Which is why I decided to start the day with some hops to check it out. Al seems to be well again so I continued the challenge with climbers and planks :ss:

I felled a little pear tree yesterday, bit sad to see it go. The previous inhabitants planted it in a really unpractical spot next to the path and also pruned it really badly, so it had been frustrating my parents for some time. It had lovely blossoms but over the course of the summer it would always turn spotted with pear rust, which also meant that they never got any edible fruit. Pear rust will remain a problem as long as there are exotic juniper trees in their neighborhood (it's a fascinating fungus that needs both pears and junipers as a host plant to complete it's life cycle!) so now we are planning to replant a fruit tee from a different species

Met some old friends again at acro training, which was nice. And I was able to train 2 specifix exercises I want to work on with a friendly person who I also practised with 2 weeks ago. I think al those planks and other core exerises I have been doing this winter really come in handy now! I feel like it has not just improved my ability to stay stiff as a plank but also makes me better at moving my whole body in one fluid line.

I'm really happy with the progress I made regarding pushups! Today was challenging though. After doing 50 yesterday without trouble, I hit a wall today and had to spread them out more over the course of the morning.

Glutes Of Steel Challenge day 5/30
35 Push-Ups (Push-Up Streak Challenge day 18 missed ⏸)
A short run (1 km?) (2/4 ✅)

This day was exhausting on the mental level, it was very challenging to get started on the things I need to get done. The run was a kind of last resort try to loosen the anxious-procrastination spiral I have spent the day in. I'm hoping that tomorrow will just magically be better, because I'm too tired now to do anything that would actually help to make tomorrow less spiral-y.

Today is THE DAY I was/am so anxious for. Mainly because I have to write an exam, but there is also a social thing in the evening that I really didn't want to have on the same day. The stuff I have to know for the exam is really interesting, but I find it so hard to learn the things in a way that is useful for an exam. And it feels like managing my nerves costs me more energy than learning the content...

Today so far

Soooo... I survived both the exam and the other event thing! But I will have to be patient for the results now for at least a few days if not weeks.

When I came home after the event I started my going-to-bed-prep almost straight away, since it was about an hour before bedtime and I expected to crash sooner or later. I did however remember my unfinished pushup challenge and spent a few minutes doing various warmup movements before starting on that. For some reason I remembered my plans from february to work on pistol squats and other calisthenics and half serious tried a pistol squat. And it worked! I mean, it was pretty wobly and I stabilized myself with one hand for part of it, but I went down and up again and it was actually doable

Pull B Workout (4kg dumbbels)
Side-to-side lunges (4 x 10)
Single leg deadlift (4kg, 2x8 per leg)
Various mobility things to fill the breaks
15 + 10 knee pushups

-------

I really enjoy being back in my hometown and that includes being back at "my" gym. I didn't really make time for it in March, because I was so busy with other stuff and felt ok with my routine of daily Darebee. Now that I have settled again I look forward to going more often! This morning it was nice and calm there, apart from one person having a phone cal on their headphones next to me for a few minutes.
It felt a bit challenging to do enough to feel satisfied but not so much that soreness will keep me from doing acrobatics tomorrow evening. Another challenge was following the rules for breaks between sets and exercises in the Pull B Workout. Maybe I will get used to it again (I followed darebees PPL Programm for a while and that also has 2 minute breaks) or otherwise I could look for some more circuit based workouts.

Hello again! I'm permitting myself a second post today to do my review of March. But also because posting this morning was kind of by accident

Later today
Universal Warmup
Glutes Of Steel Challenge day 12/30 (leg extensions)
The last 15 (of 40) knee push-ups for Push-Up Streak Challenge day 24
3 + 2 + 1 Chin-Up

Review of goals for March:
🛋 Rest and evaluate ✅ I didn't really think ahead that March would be quite busy with lots of deadlines. But I did have a weekend of hiking & board games with friends, some quiet Sundays and Afternoons and the days staying with my parents where relatively restful as well. I also made sure to keep the current week (between the exam and Easter) mostly free of stressful things.
BONUS :star: I kept up with bullet journaling, which was helpful for remembering and prioritizing things that I really wanted or needed to do.
🏋 Back and Core Program: I only did two more days of this, that is not really what I had in mind with "slow but steady", so I count this as goal missed. However, I did workouts like Zero G and Shoulder Opener, that focus on the same body parts and where equally helpful for for my tense back.
👯 darebee challenge with a friend ✅ I asked one friend (my age) and we are currently doing Glutes of Steel and also had a good talk about discipline vs. motivation!

Stretch Goals for this month:
Acro trainings: 3 out of 4 :star::star::star:
Running: 2 out of 4 :star::star:(both late in the evening, both really short, but good that I have in mind that it is an option and great that both times it did help me feel better)
Working out at the gym: 2 out of 4 :star::star:

Longer term goals:
Three months ago I pledged to do Universal Warmup every day in the morning for 3 months! I know that I forgot it like 2 or 3 times in the first weeks and in the last weeks it sometimes happened closer too noon than to breakfast, but overall it was a very successful challenge! Recently I have started get a bit bored by Universal Warmup (even though it is so short) so I might switch up the type of warmup every now and then in the coming weeks, but I want to stick to daily warmups in the morning!

Midday
100 high knees (nope, still dislike them)
Glutes Of Steel Challenge day 13/30
30 (of 80) knee push-ups for the day

Acrobatics training! (1/4 ✅)
Including:
Another 50 (of 80) knee push-ups for Push-Up Streak Challenge day 25
50 squats (EotD)
1 minute wall handstand

----------

Goals for this month:
🏋Back, Neck and Core: make a list of workouts that have worked well for me in the recent past and one of workouts that I want to try that might be a good fit for my neck/back issues.
🏋 Try at least 4 new workouts for back/neck/shoulders.
🌞 prioritize spending time outside! Walk or cycle into the forest or fields at least once a week
👯convince one person from my offline life to pick a darebee challenge to commit to together (at what point should I admit to people that I'm starting my own local pyramid scheme? 🤔😅)
🌅 Do a Warmup (or lvl1) Workout every morning for at least 3 minutes.

Stretch Goals for this month:
Acro trainings: 5 trainings
Running: 4 runs
Working out at the gym: 4 workouts
Challenges: work up to doing 8 chin-ups and start Power Pull Challenge

Did another 10 knee pushups yesterday, but after the hike and (what felt like hours of) headache management I felt too tired to complete day 29.

Gym only happened today because I went together with a friend. Felt good though. We both seem to prefer shorter workouts (compared to another friend who stays at the gym for around 2 hours) and made plans to go together on mondays for the next few weeks.

Damn, well done!!!
Did you find the pushup streak challenge easy/difficult/neutral? Did you get stiff muscles or was it bearable? Asking for a friend (hi, I'm the friend).

Have a great day.

Hi friend, I really liked this challenge and would recommend it!
Difficulty was somewhere in the middle, since the challenge gives no limit on time or number of sets to fulfill the pushups for the day and the number of pushups ebs and flows. I could do maybe 10 knee pushups in one go before I started, but never did much volume of pushups in one day/week. Didn't have sore muscles in that area IIRC, but I did take a day of before the day with 100 pushups, because my whole body felt tired and weak that day. The challenge for me was mostly a) remembering the challenge b) taking time for the challenge on 2 or 3 moments in the day and c) avoid the temptation of taking reeeeally long breaks between sets.
Thank you for your questions :ss: I hope this helped!

Acrobatics training in the evening (2/4 ✅)
Training was really nice! Did a good long warmup phase with some L-Sit practice, worked on 4-step variations (normal, reverse 4-step, 3-step and the most funky of al: 4-step with 2 bases and 1 flyer) and got some very helpful coaching for another (so far nameless) exercise.

Couldn't find any Youtube video with people who look more like me and yesterdays trainingpartners size-wise, but this is what a basic 4-step looks like 😁
(Somehow these instruction videos with pretty backgrounds are always a guy as the base, with a more or less petite woman as the flyer. Don't let that fool you, people with al sorts of bodies can do acrobatics or acroyoga together!)

Would you say it was natural to build up the number of reps, or were there days where you felt you hit a wall?
Just out of curiosity, I will probably give this challenge a try once I finish the dead hangs one, as I don't wanna overcommit, especially not with upper body challenges.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. It is highly appreciated, and again, congrats on finishing the challenge.

Holy shit, excuse my french. L-Sits? Do you mean this type of L-Sit or the one yoga posture from the video above?
I mean, both look bloody difficult, regardless. Respect.

I love this.
I don't really know what is your partner's or your body size but honestly, it shouldn't matter. I think everyone can do any exercise, prompted there is a good warm up, stretch and intensity appropriate to the individual's fitness level.

I personally have seen people with non normative bodies, especially women (who are claimed to be "weaker" by idiots) do really advanced flawless pole dancing acrobatics that look out of a Jojo episode, and even things like a flag, hanging horizontally from a pole bar. Many (most) buffed normative people have attempted and failed.

I do know this is/might be a delicate topic for some, so I have put a spoiler and trigger warning, even if the lens is positive.

Anyway, it sounds like you had fun, and I am very happy you had fun with it. Would you say acroyoga is as relaxing and challenging as classic yoga, or a bit more like co-op calisthenics? or both? or neither?

IIRC it was al going well until day 13 or so (50 pushups), after that I had to start spreading it more over the day, which at that point I did actually describe as hitting a wall  But then when I got into a rythm with that it was fine again.

Exactly that kind of L-Sit! I'm currently working with that Prep-Workout that you linked, and some other prep-exercises. It is challenging but also fun! And didn't you also do that Prep-Workout recently? I thought I saw it in your thread...

That sounds manageable. Thanks for explaining.

Damn, well done. Keep at it!

Yes, I am doing that prep workout, but I am NOT close at all to do L-Sits yet. At least not for a big while. My surprise comes from the fact that you said you use L-Sits as warmups, whereas I see them as a long term difficult goal to achieve one day .

Would you say acroyoga is as relaxing and challenging as classic yoga, or a bit more like co-op calisthenics? or both? or neither?
Completely forgot to answer this.
I don't know about acroyoga to be honest, I have only done acrobatics without yoga. Acroyoga is a newer discipline which also incorporates elements of thai massage, so I assume it can be quite relaxing! (It is also very present on social media and youtube, which is why I often use it to find new tricks or good reference videos.) It's honestly difficult to tell the types of acro apart sometimes, especially across language barriers and since there seem to be regional differences even from city to city, so I'm not sure how to better explain what type I am doing.

It definitely has challenging aspects, but that can vary depending on how ambitious you and your training partners/group are.  Maybe co-op calisthenics is actually a great way to describe what we do! I feel like it is more accessible or at least more fun to start than pure calisthenics, because you can easily learn some things that look quite impressive and feels like an achievement. And training together can be both fun and relaxing, as long as you are fine with being physically close to other (sweaty) people
