Video on avoiding mistakes with equipment

I’m not sure I have seen much information on common mistakes people make with equipment. For example when using a kettlebell for swings I read elsewhere that shouldn’t use arm strength to swing it up. And while I’ve seen in the exercise guide what a swing looks like I would appreciate clarification on what not to do.

Is that something already covered elsewhere?

@NewPickle no, we haven't covered common mistakes and "correct form" and we are not likely to do something like this. Here's why:

  • Form (or technique) is the optimization of a biomechanical movement that's designed to decrease the energetic load brought to bear on joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles (in that order) so as to increase power output during the movement and, as a secondary aim, to decrease the possibility of injury with repetitions. Even with correct form mistakes can and do happen, especially where equipment is concerned, and then injuries happen.
  • Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses and when they're shown a technique they will still use what is easily available to them first (i.e. strength) versus the technique itself. It is only with repetition that the movement improves, becomes more technical and the technique then kicks in.
  • The ways a technique could be 'corrupted' are the same as the number of people trying it. Covering ways not to do something is counter-productive and negative.

If you want to know how to avoid injury, this video will help:
