I'm 54 and way out of shape, although my weight is fine. I started the RPG routine, The Labyrinth. It's my 3rd day working out. I was not able to finish the 3 sets. I did the first set, half of the second, and half of the 3rd. I'm trying to decide if I should go on, progress through the program, or maybe I should just stay where I am until I can finish it, and then move on. Advice?

I'm not sure if I should workout every day or take a break. I imagine I should listen to my body, but my body has told me to sit on my but for the last 30 years so maybe I shouldn't listen to it.

On exercises like High Knee, I find my balance is way off. It's always been bad. I've tried holding onto my desk, or maybe slowing down...advice?

When I started last autumn, I couldn't do 20 jumping jacks. I thought that I was in better shape. That I do not need to enter small. But I did.
So I started with The Foundation program.
Body that is way out of shape and out of motion cannot to do high knees. It cannot go from zero to full speed.
So I suggest to rethink the choice of the program and start easy.
One thing, but this is just my way.. I do not do the program that I cannot do on lvl3, in case of Labyrinth, all 7 sets.

Hello and welcome, great that you started working out!

I would suggest picking an easier programm and saving The Labyrinth for later. You could check out Zero Hero, since it is one level easier but still RPG! The Foundation and The Foundation Light are also always good options to start with, they aren't called that for nothing ;-) I think its most important to find an aproach that you can stick with longterm and that motivates you to keep moving.

Have you tried replacing high knees with marching steps? That is basically the option "slowing down", that you mentioned. Darebee Team has prepared a list of replacement exercises for situations where you cant do a certain version: https://darebee.com/modifications.html
