Our supermarkets have a lot of imported food I often buy, some weeks back I did buy a can of peeled fava beans in a tomato base but not like your baked beans. Almost like refried beans, the brand I bought was California Gardens an Egyptian recipe.

Hello,

Fava beans, once a staple in Britain, fell out of favor during the middle ages, becoming associated with Peasant food. Additionally they can be toxic to some people with a condition called favism.

I came across a protein smoothie supplement that has fava bean protein in it's list of ingredients.
