Progression to Unassisted situps?

Hello! I am wondering if there is a progression to doing unassisted sit ups. I can do sit ups with my feet being held and my crunches have been getting a little higher. Any suggestions?

Maybe leg weights? 1.5 kg each leg should give you a boost. And you can also use them for high-knees, kicks and such. If you have access to a pullup-bar, try hanging leg raises. Start with bend knees and work up to straight legs. The leg raises are easier on the spine than the situps and you get a free lower arm (=grip) workout as well.
